That looks like a broken spoke in pic #6 . In case you didn't read the fine CPSC print, you absolutely should not ride it like that. Those things are notoriously tough to fix but I have some experience at it. So if you send it to me I'll go through the long spoke-fixing process then take it on extended test rides to guarantee its safety. You really don't want to even think about thinking about riding it the way it is.

A real beauty! Always liked BJ. Very classy.
Nice, nice find. I always regret selling my Bob Jackson (just a bit too small for me), and I'm jealous you've found one that appears to be my size. My advice: ride the heck out of it!

I traded mine a few years ago to another forum member, but I have missed that bike on occasion.
Had loads of charm and was a nice rider.

There's a fair bit of information online about Bob Jackson serial numbers, you should be able to narrow down date of birth pretty closely. At one time it was possible to email the factory for information on a particular bike but they don't seem too inclined to do that anymore.
Very nice bikes for the most part, a common complaint was slightly misaligned bottom brackets.
This is a very interesting read https://www.classicrendezvous.com/pub...tombicycle.pdf Chapter 5 is all about Bob Jackson or JRJ cycles as it was called.

Earlier 70s rather than late, I'd say, judging by the lugged fork crown and rear dropouts. Nice miscellany of parts, (Japanese/Italian) in traditional British spend-where-it-counts fashion. I doubt that the MA-40 rim is original to the bike. Chrome always a bonus premium on Bob Jacksons; there are plenty without any. If you want to do a "restore," then I'd start with the rims. Also, if it comes to a refinish, I have _exactly_ those BJ down tube and top tube decals; the originals, not repros.

DownNflames, I'm no authority on 1970s Jacksons, but one thing I can tell you is this is very much not a candidate for a spraybomb and conversion to a fixie.

From a coworker he is a manager at an apartment building and some one left it in a storage shed.

Rock it till the wheels fall off...then put the other set on and rock it some more! Bust out the lemon pledge and make it shiny and smell tasty!
