Bikes: Marin Bolinas ridge, Carlton Corsa 5, Falcon Olympic 12, 98 Shesh Rockhopper,

$1

Yep, $1 is all it cost.
Spied this frame on an auction site here in NZ, so did my mate at work, a coin toss later I went home and put a $1 down and then sorta forgot!
Came home today and mucked around for a while then just after dinner got an email alert on my phone, checked it only to find a notification of payment instructions? A little bit of head scratching as my phone loaded up the auction, and then well a bit of a hoot, showed my wife.
I then did what all good mates would do . . . texted my work mate for a bit of a brag!!

Anyway enough waffle, onto the pics

So new Headset, A Head conversion, Bontrager stem, original seat post, original fork and stem.
Stunned.

Not too sure what way the build will go, might even throw a shock at it for bumpyish stuff? Who knows.

Bikes: blue ones.

wow, good score! perfect for a drop bar MTB or a single speed. Or both, if you're feeling brave

Yea, I am pretty stoked . . . just converted it to US $'s and it comes to a grand total of 75c !?

Too good to be true, so I have told myself the frame is cracked and that all the other parts are well well worth the hard earned coin, that way I will be even more happy with my luck come time to pick up!

Was hoping to go get it tonight, but seller has asked me to go tomorrow?! I get a little impatient with the waiting, like a kid on Christmas day.

I got it home and it is MINT
Now just got to figure out what to do with it.
I set up a Marin Pine Mountain as a dropbar conversion, yet have not finished it, so I can easily see all the 3550 Sora group go over to this bike.
Did I tell you guys how mint it is?
I will get some pics tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure the fork is not bent.

Impressive, great shot in the light when few other folks were looking.

Tom, it is the kind of dollar that does not get me in trouble with my wife!
Got a wheel set on it today, and a set of drops, although I do not know if I will go that way or not.
Pic

I have as said above Sora 3550 cranks, mech s, shifters, some Tektro canti's, black LX hubs, so it could end up that way.
I also have a full black LX group, so it could go 3 x 8.
Or I could go more modern Xt.
As you guys can see I really have no idea what I will do.
Frame has very little scratches no dings/dents, to date this is the tidiest 2nd hand frame I have got.

mountaindave, Thanks I think its pretty cool, just so tidy with frame protecting tape everywhere any cable comes into contact with frame means very little scratches.

I am in the process of putting on the Sora stuff, will pic when most of it is on.

I would go flat bar, single speed, biggest/chunkiest tires that will fit. Shred trail.

That bike looks really tight and fun.

Thanks bane, I had thought of that only I have a single speed in the works already.

Do not like the way it looks with the Sora bits I will photo tomorrow and see what you guys think.

Nice bike!
I keep a spot open for a drop bar conversion of a mt bike - that looks like it will fill that niche nicely.
Great Deal.
