If picking up after your dog is the norm then picking up after your horse should be also.

Some cities that have carriage rides require diapers for the horses.

They should at least offer Yellow Flashing Lights sign so people can see it from far away to adjust speed.

Why? Poor circulation.

How to avoid it? Not sure. Improve circulation? Don't spin?

Both feet or just one? Shoes may have been too tight or sock thicker than usual.

No clue other that running shoes are not stiff enough. I pedal in the 85-95 RPM range and if I get numbness it is because I tightened my shoe too much.

However this morning I rode 17 miles and 1100 feet of climbing before breakfast, then had my protein shake after. I was getting pretty hungry by lunch time and ate a bit earlier than normal.

However I found that the protein shake doesn't work for me if I'm going for a long ride, so my normal pre-ride weekend breakfast is oatmeal and a banana.

I never drink soft drinks, even diet. Like Romans said, my tastes change and these things are just too sicky-sweet. I still try to limit refined carbs and other highly processed foods, but there exceptions - like burritos and Thin Mints! And I try to limit gratuitous fat - grilled instead of fried, that sort of thing. Almost never drink, maybe a beer or two a month on average.

Try some different things and see how you feel and how your body responds. I'd suggest you lose the high sugar energy drinks first (I use Nuun tablets for electrolytes, no sugar), replace those calories with a mix of complex carbs and some protein, don't change much else and see what happens.
Why dont people drink regular food instead of protein drinks? lt just seems a bit unnatural to drink powder in the menu on LCHF

Cycling Shoes- How long did it take you to take the switch from regular sneakers to road shoes? Did you experience any falls?

When I bought a bike, 20+ years ago, I got SPD pedals installed and started wearing MTB shoes. I never looked back.

Never fell either; the release is adjustable so you are not actually bonded to your bike (except if you want to)

Rule #27 // Shorts and socks should be like Goldilocks.
Not too long and not too short.

Although, that should probably be like Baby Bear.

I guess if there is a design on the high cycling sock, then it allows more area to show off the design.

My cycling socks end about where the calf muscle begin/ends or just a little lower. I've got one pair of gray wool socks, but the rest of them are Hi-Viz socks that match some of my Hi-Viz wicking shirts. I have heard that moving hi-viz might attract a little more attention, so if you have hi-viz socks that's just another little safety factor. I guess if you have reflective material on the socks, the same would apply at night.

silly unless every single one you own is the same length.

I like ankle high ish socks. Women w/ tan lines to the mid calf and dress might be a bit awkward....it bad enough for me wearing shorts.

I also don't wear gloves on the roadie cuz I had the tan lines. Gloves only on in the cold and crit racing where I might need some crash protection. need padding? get some better bar tape

I do give an exception to women, as their socks in other sports tend to be the kind that need the cute little ball to keep from slipping into the shoe. So, if they want to wear ankle socks that is fine.

"But men should wear men's socks, like in Rule #27 " And those pictures that Vic added.

And I wear gloves to prevent road rash on my hands in case I crash. Just like I wear a helmet to keep my brains inside my skull in case I crash. I don't plan on crashing, but sometimes it can happen.
