Would there be interest in a weight loss database?

I am now 307 BUT:
I am a little confused as to why so many of us had less then ideal results this month. I wonder if there is a scientific reason for this. I lost 3 pounds this month, but I really thought that I did a better job with eating than the weight loss dictated.
Good luck in March everyone!

As to the reason for the lower apparent loss rate....consider, you can't exercise as hard in cold weather without risking a sweat and hypothermia if you are riding outdoors. In addition, in the winter months our bodies are trying to conserve fat to maintain core temperature as well as keep a safety reserve for famine times. It's hardwired into us and served us well when we were nomadic hunter/gatherers, but doesn't work quite right in a technologically driven, plentiful food civilization.

This has been a bad month. Last I weighed, about a week ago, I was at 327. Had a bad crash riding my dual sport motorcycle way too fast in the dirt in mid-feb. Cracked some ribs, and mild concussion, so I've been doing no exercise for a couple of weeks. (excuses, excuses) Hopefully, I'll heal up well enough soon....

Hi Tom,
feel free to add me to the database as soon as I get a new bike. My current weight is 216 lbs. Of course, I'm not tall, so 170 lbs. is considered overweight for a guy at my height

I got back on the bike 3 years ago to lose weight and all I've done is maintain, if not gain a little. I'm 125 to 150 miles a week rider, varying terrains and THR that runs at 137 - 142 and a cadence of 80 - 95. I confess to being a binge eater of sorts but before bad knees, my basketball and running allowed a spring burn off of 15 - 20 lbs of hybernation fat within 10 weeks. Since moving to the bike and riding 4 - 5 days a week, I'm lucky if I get the winter fat off before the end of September!

Thanks for all the well-wishes, guys.
I finally got back into the saddle yesterday. Rode a few miles yesterday morning, and then a few more in the afternoon. Felt great! I still have a little vertigo and some rib pain from the motorcycle accident, but didn't seem to bother me on the bike. I'll be back out riding again today!
