Now I wish I would have saved all that money and bought an awesome bike, Because I have found that I LOVE TO RIDE So anyway my hubby and I did 4 or 5 miles today. Still trying to get over being saddle sore We are both riding for our health We took some before pics, now we are happily waiting for the after pictures!! I did the same thing as you after getting bored out of my skull from walking so much. Bought a $35 yard sale special and the rest is history. That was in March 2000, approximately 12,000 miles ago.

Glad you like the forums

Welcome! I wish you and your Husband luck in this new adventure. I just got my wife back on a bike this past weekend and she's pleased with her new bike and has thanked me many times over in the past few days. I didn't think she would ever want to ride again.

We bought her a very basic Trek 7000 WSD, but she loves it! If she sticks with it, we may pass this bike down to one of our Adult Daughters and then get the wife something nicer.

You may want to try a different saddle. There are many designs and thoughts on this. The Bontrager line sold by TREK Shops has a Comfort Warrenty and the shop will take care of you if you don't like the saddle.

Good Luck!

Welcome! You can probably ride your bike for a while and it will give you good fitness while you figure out what type and size bike is best for you. Do your dreaming, shopping, testing, etc.

I started on an Xmart bike and it didn't start to show problems until I had some miles on it and started going for longer rides and at higher speed. Then the creaks and little problems here and there and the fact that it was too small for me really started to show up.

A change to a good bike will be a good change but getting out and riding is the biggie either way.

Yes, we need at least a bike description, but prefer a picture. Welcome aboard.

Welcome...you found a good place to hang out and talk about biking.

Let's see the before photos!!

Have you bought bike shorts? Bike shorts are padded and make it easier when riding on the saddle. If that doesn't help, then there are other saddles to try. Just remember with saddles, bigger doesn't always mean more comfortable. A saddle too big can be just as uncomfortable as a small one.

Read this article if you are thinking about getting another saddle.
https://sheldonbrown.com/saddles.html

If you haven't run across him yet, you can learn TONS of great info about cycling from Sheldon Brown's website. He's pretty much revered as a complete guru around these parts.
