I couldn't find Foo for the first few months I was here. I originally found BF during a search, and up at the top of the page where the hierarchy is, the title "Bike Forums" is used twice... I never bothered to click on the first one, and thought there was only the actual bicycle forums...no announcements, or regionals, or foo, or anything else.

But I kept getting Foo during searches, so I knew it was somewhere*. It was baffling.

One of my ride partners back in FL was a lady I met when she started here in introductions looking for some people to ride with.

After about a year I mentioned something about "Foo" and she asked what it was. After talking to her for a bit about the website, it seems she had bookmarked BF in the road cycling forum and for the whole year she'd been here had no idea there were any other sub-forums.

Oh so that's what it is... a sense of humor. I sortof think of it as folks who generally can't play fair with others and FOO's their only refuge.

Think of FOO as a cocktail lounge and folks are just sitting around giving you their opinions, while highly wasted.

OK that's probably just an unfair observation but my observation none the less.

Nope...just lots of fun and nonsense. For when you want to just goof around and not talk about cycling. It can get pretty goofy sometimes.

That's actually a pretty generous characterization if memory serves.

You actually just described P&R there Foo can have an edge from time to time, agreed, but it's a bit of a fun edge

This was just taken last weekend at a dog show, and I think it's a very sweet photo.

If the US were shrunk down, and on the same latitude as Ireland, it'd be about where County Mayo is in fair Erin.

Funny yeah, i did look at the map to see where it was. by that reckoning Galway would be California and Dublin = New York. Uncanny! As much as i'm in love with the states I know where i'd rather be - most of the time of course;-) although i do envy you your weather.

Tom, you said before you had relatives or ancestry from Mayo, did you ever find out anything about them? I'll have a look but i don't think id have much luck with the name Stormcrowe - lol although it would stand out from all the O'Malleys and Walshes here;-)
