Exactly!!! The actual trip was on the way to Carmel (which I figured most people would know if they didn't live in California). Actually a friend and I were looking for someone's house, got lost and happened upon the Elfin Forest. All the years driving and riding up there I never knew it existed and what a lovely place. It was a perfect winter day in California. Light breeze, sunshine and cool but not cold temperatures (60 maybe). I think we spent 2 hours there just walking around and taking photos.
Thanks for all the compliments. Boy am I not use to those!!! Made my day!
I'll post photos of my bikes later (when I get home) they are way sexier than me! I had several men drooling over my new road wheels just this last weekend!

Show us the picture of your bike wreck, nothing better than a gal and her play toy.

Pam, isn't that a neat place! Its hidden away and most people don't even know it is there. If you could look through the Rock you could almost see my place. I have a place in Cayucos just up the coast about 5 miles. I ride down to the area and on out to Montana de Oro quite often.
I am so jealous then... I believe the entire central coast area from Santa Barbara to Monterey to be God's playland as it is and the area you described is particularly beautiful although I have not done much riding there. It's usually a place I drive through to get elsewhere. Someday I plan to go back and actually do some riding!

OK - let's not get too creepy! It's like some weird side show.
I'm interested as well to see who else is out there. In the cycling world there are alot of big guys but few large women. We Athenas are definitely in the minority! Would love to know there are more of us out there!

There are quite a few pictures of me (and others) in this thread. I met Lodi781 when he passed through Portland yesterday, and he put up a picture of me on his blog.

Thanks for the compliments.
Pam... Elfin Forest looks beautiful! I've never been there but have spent quite a lot of time in and around Cambria. I love that area. I'll have to head south next time to check out Elfin Forrest.

We were on our way up to Cambria (and then further to Carmel) when we ran into the Elfin Forest. It is a really beautiful area and someday I hope to do some more exploring. DanteB promised to set up a bike ride with we can make the dates work sometime. I'm looking forward to it!
