Ouch. Maybe I missed it, but did you go to the doctor and get that thing looked at? You want to get started on shoulder treatment and rehab, if it is needed, asap. All of those little muscles tighten up when you don't use it so, so quickly. I would go to a sports specialist, if it were me. I'm not a hypochondriac either (spelling?). I hope that you feel better soon. Take care.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

MRI Tomorrow. Meantime, I am continuing with simple mobility exercises to prevent just that.

Ouch!
Know I haven't been round for awhile but I hope you get a quick turn around on the wing.
Just as a passing thought..........
Do you think the different wind resistance from shaving your beard up could have caused the lapse in balance???
Just poking fun, it's a Southern thing
Best of luck to ya', Senor.

OK, it looks to be Bicep Bursitis, inflamed by the crash. No permanent injury, but Bursitis is a chronic thing. I'm on Glucosamine and rest the arm for a week or so. Cold compress at night for a half hour and painkillers. Looks like I get to avoid surgery!

Feel better fast Tom.
The good news is these things can get better in time. and you can be back riding sooner than that, as long as you didn't mess up a disc too.
Did a minor shoulder separation on a MTB trail endo a few years ago, one of several that year. I was able to get back riding after a few weeks to a month, but the pain and stiffness lasted a good six months.
The bad news is, like you said, us 200 lb+ 46-47 year olds don't bounce so great. We crash spectacularly, but the bounce is more like a 'dead cat bounce.'
Just listen to your body to help avoid cumulative injuries to cervical discs, cos those can really sideline you for a long time.
