Hope you heal quick Tom. If it is a separated shoulder at least it happened towards the end of the season (small consolation I know) but I separated mine a few years back and had the surgery and it's as good as new now. The problem I'm having now is that I tore a bunch of cartalige behind my knee. I have surgery scheduled for wednesday.

I remember when I landed on my shoulder last year. Those good pain pills made not riding all that bad, for a short while. From your pic i don't see swelling on top of your shoulder. I hope that means no separation.

I really fell for you. oops make that feel. I hope youre able to get back in the saddle again soon.

That's what I'm hoping as well. Still no swelling, but mobility is restricted a LOT!

That said, I'm going to hit the sack! Have a better one than I did today, all of ya!

Ouch... Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I am assuming the degree of seriousness in this accident will most likely hinder you from attaining HH in October...

Heal up quickly so you can swing yourself on your bike again.

I don't know.....still no swelling, so that's a good sign at least I'll know more soon, I'd guess.

What really sucks is I have to DRIVE to school!

Ouch!

What's up with your leg? Is that a super tan, or is purple? It looks purple.

Permanent discoloration from circulatory disease. One of the complications of Diabetes. My legs are truly ugly looking from the knee down

Ok...gotcha. I know what you mean, I've seen that before. Lucky for me, I got my diabetes diagnosed and under pretty fast so never had a problem. I had a great grandmother who lost a leg because of it though.

I was 10 months before I really felt back to normal. The big problem was that at night I would re-injure it in my sleep. Seek therapy. Trying to deal with it yourself is not wise.

Best of luck to you. But hey! You now have a great story to tell. Embelish the hell out of it. You are in a sling and everything.

See ya

I tweaked my shoulder kayaking too and it took months to heal up. Only back to 100% after lifting weights for a year.

Good luck Tom.

More mobility today. Pain the same though. The increased mobility though, is an excellent sign!

You could have separated it -- if you dislocated it, you'd know it. Good luck with it, veteran of many a shoulder injury here...

So sorry to hear of your mishap and injuries. Think healing thoughts, visualize moving your shoulder, etc. Some people say exercising your good arm/shoulder can still help the injured one when you start therapy.

Well, it's an "Outlaw" trail. Not an official trail, very tight and twisty through the wood in Murdock park in Lafayette.

Google Maps Sat image here of the patch of woods
