Greatest weight gain/loss in a week

In the spirit of fun...

For whatever the reason, however healthy or unhealthy, however it happened (amputations allowed) what's the most amount of weight you've gained and/or lost in a week? Feel free to expand that to a month.

Three weeks ago - gained 10 pounds from 285 up to 295

This last week - lost 12 pounds from 293 to 281. Might be time to add a few calories...

OK - GO!

(When I start to become active again usually the first 10 slide off real easy; it's the other 40 that sticks around - I'm not doing anything too drastic so no worries ).

With a 2 second stroke of a judge's pen, I got rid of 120 pounds of dead weight.

Seriously though, the most I've dropped in a week was 8 pounds for 2 weeks in a row.

A Homer and Jethro song had the line, "I lost two hundred pounds of ugly fat when she walked out the door!"

I get weighed once or twice a year, no idea how much i've lost (or gained) in a week. If it's a big number, it's probably mostly water anyway.

Well, after my little butt issue, I lost 13 pounds in a day and a half, but that was dehydration and flushing out all abdominal waste. I briefly hit 198! (Still a Clyde though, because of my height and once I could eat again, I went back to 211. This seems to be my stable weight point for now.

I did a 40 day fast once. I lost 42 total and 15-18 in the last week of it. It wasn't about weight loss though.

My most weight loss in a week was 18 pounds and it was a work weight loss contest. The next week I lost 15, and then 10. After it was over, I gained it all back and then some. Diets don't work. Life style changes work.

In one week? 11.8 pounds my first week of weight watchers. I realize that is not typical.

I lost 25 pounds in my first month, 16 of them in my first two weeks. I needed two scales to weigh myself.

Back in '97 I had triple by-pass heart surgery due to a failed angioplasty. In the span of five days I lost 15 lbs in what was the worst week of my life.

Miserable and scared out of my wits, I refused to eat, to the point where the doctors threatened to feed me intraveniously. I did finally eat a little bit of jello though.

The senior year of high school, I was doing two-a-days football practice in August for the upcoming season. We had weigh-ins before and after every practice (4 weigh-ins a day). I lost 12 pounds one day.

Of course, it was all back on the next morning

'm not sure what the greatest week loss is, though. Probably around 10-pounds last year this time.

10+ lbs in one day.

Had to fast for a day and a half, take all sorts of laxatives and an enema before surgery to make sure I was totally "empty" in that area.

I got a not-so-favorable bunch of numbers in my recent workplace health screening. Found out I have type II diabetes. Since then (one month ago) I've lost 20 pounds (282 to 262). I aim to lose 52 pounds in a year, but I will eat healthy, lose or not.
