Will do.

Blue and white jersey - Henria86
Dark Jersey - Stevesurf
Red shirt - some guy on riding the opposite way stopping at the same spot
Bright green jersey - Air

In the middle picture with the field behind us in the distance are the two Yankee Stadiums, one is the old one and the other is being built.

I'm a Mets fan. I don't care for the Yankee stadiums.

I thought you were the big guy in the sleeveless jersey. Did the pedal extenders make a difference for you on this ride? You might still have some soreness. I know I did until I adjusted to having my knees work in the 'proper' up and down motion.

They helped a little - no soreness but my knee was letting me know it was there a little, though this was a bit more centralized on the sides (so that's IT band issues). I concentrated on keeping my knees straight but apparently by outside observation failed. I thought it would be a good idea to give the extenders a try then put on the toe clips so that'll be the next step - hopefully will help me keep them straighter.

Strange I never had an issue before the first mile of last Sunday's ride...that's what's bugging me the most!

It's a problem that builds up slowly. I rode 1000 miles before I had the knee problem show up.

Ugh. Well hopefully I can nip this one in the bud quickly!

It will be a couple of weeks before the knee recovers. If you are lucky, there is no permanent damage. I'm not lucky, as I am reminded of every time it rains.

This morning I had a little accident on the mile ride to the train station from Neil F.'s house. I was in a hurry and apparently didn't fasten a pannier strap securely. So it came undone at 18 MPH and was sucked into the rear wheel. The pannier followed. I skidded to a stop. I remained upright, but the bike is now out of commission. A preliminary account of the damage includes nine spokes knocked out or broken, I don't know how many others loosened or otherwise damaged, the rear wheel seriously out of true, the rear tire shredded, and the rear brakes knocked out of alignment. Other than the shock and some upper body weakness caused by my having to carry the bike a mile, I'm OK.

I'm trying to find a local bike shop open today so I can get repaired and get rolling home. I didn't drive here, but instead did a bike-train commute. Once I know about my travel plans for today, I'll worry about the Pittsburgh-DC tour at the end of the week.

Let me plug Neil F.'s local bike shop. I was lucky Highland Park Cyclery was open, and my thanks to them for doing emergency work to fix the bike. Since I'd traveled 100 miles by bike and train, I would have been stranded otherwise.
