I get to be first this week!

248 3/4 Very happy to have beaten the mythical 250 lb barrier! (OK, maybe not mythical but a milestone none the less). Good week! Paid particulary close attention to the diet over the weekend and rode 40 miles yesterday, my longest excursion of the year.

Some ambitious goals for this week are 3-4 pound weight loss and ride 100 miles. Since I already have 51 in the books and 24 miles of commuting left, I only have to get in 27 extra miles. Would be my first 100 mile week, oh maybe, EVER!

MM...happy camper

This is my first week to post in here. I am down 2 pounds since joining last week, 248 down to 246..

I started riding three weeks ago and finally starting to see results.

on a side note, the wife got a new road bike. She has gone from a hybrid to a trek so I am sure I am in for a work out keeping up with her...

Lost another 3 pounds last week for a total of 60 pounds. My current weight is 296.4. I have started working my core every morning and either biking or weight training in the pm depending on the weather. I found a group that does a 35 mile ride(moderate pace) every Sunday morning. I hope to muster up the nerve to join them in the next few weeks. I also found a local century scheduled for Oct. 3rd. If I can get in a couple of the 35 mile rides in I might have to give it a try. I had a broken spoke replaced and my rear deurailler adjusted on my 87 Bianchi Axis. I've been having a blast riding it. I hope next Monday finds me below 290, but thats probably pushing it.

BTW: I did a spinning class for the first time last week. Thought I was going to throw up!

having motivational issues at the moment and have not eaten to wel last couple of days. Also have not riden in 9 days which annoys me. Goals for this week is to just get back to what I weighed Saturday. also to get on bike and go for a ride.

Ok, I am very disappointed. I know muscle mass weighs more than fat. I have lost some fat this month because I can see my body reshaping, but my legs have gotten stronger because my rides reflect that. But it is still disappointing that I have not lost a SINGLE pound this month. Do I further decrease my calorie intake? This is the first month of really steady riding I have done. I am on course to hit 400 miles probably more miles in August than in the previous 8 months combined. That is why I am disappointed.

Well I lost a few more pounds this week even though my mileage was down from previous weeks. I have a big weekend ahead with lots of potential partying and eating, that I need to keep in check. I also won't be with my bike since we are going to be out of town and won't be taking the bike with me. I am just going to try to stick as close to my goals as possible and see how it turns out.

Current Weight = 252
Last Week = 256
Lost = 4lbs

Its been a while since I have posted here only because I have reached my target weight. In that time period I have not seen a big weight swing either way so I guess that I am finally doing this correctly.

I'm still trying to get in around 150 miles of riding and 10 miles of running per week and still watching what I eat although I am eating a bit more so as to not lose any more.

I am currently at 180ish down from 210 in early Feb. My all time high number was somewhere around 225-230. Can't tell you how good I feel now. There are days that I think that I could ride for hours on end and not get tired.

Any way just wanted to give you all an update and let you all know that it can be done!!

What is your water intake? Have you recorded and measured your caloric intake? Make sure you know what you are taking in before you make drastic changes. Also, you might try to measure your chest, arms, legs, neck, ect. to see if you are losing inches.

BTW, I got my ticker ticking.

ok update for last week.

Still have not been on the bike, that is 14 days without and it hurts me. I am at the point I need to ride and am hoping for a couple of rides this week before I head out of town.

Weight wise I am amazed. I weighed last Saturday 22nd and was 244.5, by Monday 24th I was back up to 250 - this was caused by sitting in a motorcycle dealership for 6-8 hours getting my Wifes Bike Saturday and missing lunch. We hit the China Buffet and ate way too much. The Sunday it was a papa murphys stuffed pizza (although for Sunday I ended up only 500 cals over my maintenance weight). With the bad foods and the sodium I retained water *LOL*.

This was also the week I changed the amount I eat and actually increased how much I consume. I was eating 1000 - 1500 cals a day but had just too many people freaking out and giving info on why it was too low so I upped my Calorie input to test what they were saying (and I thought to prove them wrong). For this week I have ate between 1500-2000 calories a day and what the hell I actually lost weight steadily *LOL* guess they were right

Weigh in Sunday morning 30th - 244lbs beat my goal (get back to 244.5) by 0.5lbs It also means I maintain a weight 1lb lower than what I was shooting for next weekend.
