Surprise Meeting a Clyde at The Shop....."Cachequatch"

Gina and I were at a local shop just browsing. But as I walked by the service dept, one dude looked at me and said,"you aren't going to make any videos are you?". I was stunned for a second cause the face didn't look familiar. He introduced himself and although I have read several of his posts, I had a registering the name. Heck, I never really was sure how to pronounce it anyways haha! And prolly still can't hehehe!

Spoke for a while and it sure was nice to find out the he's just as nice a guy as his postings in the forums. I had seen him post in the clyde forum in the past but wasn't really sure why after seeing him in person, the dude looks very fit! I figured he'd lost some weight , come to find out, he's dropped 100 lbs since the start of his cycling days! If I remember correctly, 6'3 and 200 lbs. But the dude looks 160!

Darn good job and darn nice guy!

Oh, and to the ladies that had to wait a little bit longer for their bikes (if you read this), again, sorry, I didn't realize you were waiting for your bikes while I held the guy up!

Actually it was the picture taking. I've been doing it and posting in the forums for 4 years now. Only started the vids this year. But I have ridden in places not expecting where other riders have called out my name.

Matter of fact, the dude Hillbasher that I ride with recognized me riding up a towards Mt Baldy (2-3 years ago). He called out, we met, rode a couple of times then this year we started riding the mtn together.

I think the ladies were just groupies.

So how much did you charge for an autograph and how much to have his his picture taken with you? Will you post your upcoming appearance schedule? People can't wait to know when you come to a city near them.

Hahaha! Funny, Hilbasher and I were talking on one of our last rides. I was laughing cause another person had called me a celebrity, another blogger called me a photgrapher extraordinaire in a video!...To me, I'm just a goofy dude with a camera.

Hillbasher says either way, some people see it as a celebrity status although my opinion is far from that. I'm just happy to find new people, friends and riders! Gina thinks it's funny too!

I think its pretty cool to run into someone you share something in common with. I know of one poster who is in the same town but i've never met them. I'll just resign myself to being a legend in my own mind.

It is nice! After a couple or years posting pics, we ran into a TON of riders on the local trail we frequent. I've found maybe 30 posters (other than forum rides, maybe 100 more)and SEVERAL more lurkers that I never even would have known viewed the forums. I've been repairing flats on the side of the road when riders go by and ask, "Got everything you need Mr Beanz?".

We frequent the trail but I was REALLY shocked the day I rode into the mtns and other riders were shouting "Mr Beanz". Now I ride both just to meet new riders.

I met another blogger (Glendora Mt Rd) about 2 or 3 years ago. Reacquainted a couple months back. I was shocked that she new plenty about my postings. And her friends all new us! I was admiring her blog not knowing she was admring mine and forum postings!

She does all sorts of info for the mtn we ride, reports, weather traffic etc, including hiking. We were talking the other day. I told her others had asked why I didn't post weather etc. I told her that was her thang and she was the originator, I'm just a rides dude. She seemed happy about that I wouldn't stomp on her territory. That's when she gave me the camera protector thingy.

Her blog: our blogs seem to work hand in hand!
