Warmup time before hill repeats?

Started doing some hill repeats near my house to get in a quick mid-week workout. Any suggestions on how long to warm up for about 20 minutes of climbing?

Do I need to warm up at all? The hill is only a block away.

I prefer to warm up before I start climbing hills. I don't know how much is necessary ... around ten minutes is probably good for me.

Few hills here ... but I usually warm up 10 minutes before I start doing intervals

Hill repeats? I say warm up on the first climb. Take it easy first time up. Second time maybe a little more effort. Third climb, go all out.

Long climbs, I use the first two miles of climbing as a warm up for a minimum 8 mile 1 hour climb.

I've tried to warm up my legs on the flats before climbing but it doesn't do a thing for me. I can ride 10 miles but once I hit the climb, my legs won't feel any kind of warmed up.

Most times, my climbing rides are starting out straight up 6% grade from the very first stroke. I gave up on warming up on a flat section.

My first real hill of the day is 2 miles from my apartment and I get a couple rollers in on the way to it during the AM commute. On average, I get about 10 minutes of warmup time and feel pretty good on that hill.

I found what was important for me was warming my whole body up, not just my legs when climbing hills. When I don't, my back muscles take a beating, especially if I'm standing a lot on the climbs.
