not that I am counting or anything buuuutttt...... I am at 283.25 for the month so far. Will be riding a lot this week and then no riding for a week (traveling). Should hit 300. Thats awesome.

This month I have had a few big rides where last month I had a lot of shorter rides.

Update: was able to get in my first 40 miler on Sunday, which was awesome. Then went out for 15 miles today but got lost and ended up getting in a little under 23 miles. My backside is a little sore so taking tomorrow off. It was worth it though I may have to reconsider my goal and push it for 250 miles.

9/18- 40.1
9/19- 22.9

Total: 166.45 Miles Done; at least 33.55 miles to go.

Well my original target of 150 is done and dusted, as is the 200 mark. We'll see how the rest of the week goes, but the weekend should see me at least to 250. I'm happy to have grossly underestimated myself this month!

I may have to bow out of the challenge this month. Riding over 120 miles in about a week and a half, including some very steep hill climbs, seems to have been over the limit for my left knee. I've been enduring an ache for a couple months now, and it's gotten to the point where it's hindering my ability to even walk.

I had x-rays done today, and should get some results in the next day or so.

Hopefully my knee will be ok for the 118 mile, 2-day ride with my friends, from half moon bay to carmel coming up in just a couple weeks.

I'm putting in run because it's 5K season around here and I want to do well, so when there's a choice between running and riding, I'm doing the running.

The weekends are about the only good times to ride. Traffic is just brutal around this small town during the day (weekdays). Lots of close calls. Lots.

BB broke.

Have replacement, no spanner. Ideas?

When I was a kid, I used screwdriver + hammer, but I don't think I want to now.

I'm going to be back in the saddle again. Just got word from the doctor that the x-rays revealed no injury or arthritis in my knee. I won't have time to bike much this weekend, but a couple days of commuting next week will put me over my goal of 150 miles for the month. I just need to stay away from hill climbs and make sure I focus on my form.

I bought a spanner. . . and wouldn't you know that the fixed, drive side cup is beyond mere mortals? I do have the proper wrench for that, at least, but can't move it. Not at all. Not at all.

No, I don't have bench vise.

After the 5K tomorrow, I'll give it a ride to ye olde shop and they'll get it off, I'll be riding again by tomorrow evening. to be sure.
