Doctor told me only light leisurely short rides for the weekend,no major miles . My blood pressure is through the roof . High enough I called and left a message at the doctors office. they called back and said they want to see me NOW!

Finally a nice day to ride. Went to the YMCA after work and did 65 minutes on the elliptical, had dinner, got on the bike and went 10.2 miles (my goal for today was 7.5 miles).

I have only had my bike for 3 weeks and have been able to ride only a handful of days but, every time I get on the bike it is easier than the previous time. Tomorrow will be the test as I plan to ride 15 miles and the forecast calls 14 mph winds with 30 mph gusts (ah Kansas). I plan on going out against the wind and back with the wind.

4/4 - 10.2 miles
MTD - 10.2 miles
To Go - 89.8 miles

6.1 miles today. 10 MTD. Hoping to ride 10 miles on Saturday (It will be flatter, so 10 should be easily doable.

I'm in. In March I logged 259 and I have 68 so far in April. I'm actually hoping for 300 but that may depend on the amount of rainfall in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and my willingness to go slog in the wet stuff.

4/3 did 31 miles. Weather is a bit crappy here in the PNW so we'll see how many more chances to pick up the 69 miles needed.
4/5 16 miles in the wind and rain

It's getting warmer in NorCal, so I'm going to see if I can hit what I did in October, or 327km, somewhere over 200 miles. I think that might just come down to how much rain we are going to get this month, but I still have like 20 more lbs to lose before the end of May, it's getting to the hard part of that endeavour I think. Didn't help that the last 3 weeks I was overseas with a heavy friend pointing me to lots of big meals.

edit:
I've been lazy! I'm still 62 miles away from my 200, but that's totally attainable over the last 3 days of the month. In an effort to motivate myself I put Jenny Fletcher on my phone's lockscreen, and Niki Gudex on the wallpaper. Seems to be helping.

I'm on track to make my modest goal of 50 miles. A couple of days the weather turned really nasty so I resorted to the Schwinn Airdyne for mileage but so far I've ridden 2-3 miles every day this month. If all goes well, I'll have my new bike together in the next month or so and I'll have some new motivation to ride. Nothing like a new bike!

4/4: 2 miles, to grocery store. I'm counting it!
4/5: 30.25. First ride beyond a little diddling around since the second week in March. First hills since last fall. I am exhausted. My legs could not handle the hills. An ever present, though not strong, headwind didn't help either.

37.25 for the month
1481 for the year

Thought I'd check in even though I haven't set a goal for myself for this month as I'm commuting 7 days a week between work and school and on Mondays and Fridays I'm commuting twice! So I don't need to have a goal to reach towards as I don't even have enough time to sleep, but all those miles are already adding up. I'll be over 100 miles before this evening, I'm already at 89.9 and have my ~8 mile ride home this morning and then back to work tonight still to do. Rolling an extra 20 miles on Wednesday to pick up a new rear wheel from a Craigslist seller certainly helped too! Kind of blows my mind to be already be over 100 miles and it's only the 6th of the month! Hopefully all these miles will start paying off and I can see the scale finally start heading down from 280lbs. :/

I must say though that my hips are aching. I'm hoping part of that is a new saddle and that once I'm used to the saddle and my body gets used to doing more than double the miles per week that I was doing, that I'll be okay. I do worry about getting exhausted without any rest days on the horizon between now and mid-June, unless you count two days on Amtrak and a day drinking!

Outsmarted myself on my commute to work on Wednesday. I checked the weather before I left and saw the storm was coming, but thought if I hit the gas and pedal fast I could beat it. Didn't make it. Got completely soaked. Good thing I have spare dry clothes in my locker at work. Riding gear didn't have time to dry during the day so in the afternoon put on damp gear for the commute back home.

Mileage this month = 201

Mileage year-to-date= 3,067

Not sure what I'll be able to do this month. It's starting out pretty crummy with having pneumonia.
Just looking at how this month is shaping out to be, I'd be happy with 100 miles.

Wowzers! Today was still cold but went out with a friend for a silly ride that we've wanted to do in ages. The outward leg was easy enough, the return leg was brutal. For good measure something I ate last night meant my digestion was acting up and I felt like I was constantly puffing up with gas. Still, got around the course and my legs still work... .kind of
