100 - 125'/mile is defined as hilly. There are 4 categories below that and two above it; "climby" at 126-150'/mile and "really?" which is >151'/mile

Slowosity is my middle name.

105 miles with 9,300' gain today in the TrojanHorse 'slowosity' department. Painfully slow... enough to almost count it as a recovery ride.

September:
Running: 23.7 miles/ 1,114' gain (4:20:49)
Ridding: 276 mi / 19,797' gain (16:45)

YTD:
Running: 369.2 mi / 18,209' gain (64:18:37)
Ridding: 4,422 mi / 243,519' gain (259:41)

+680 miles on the stupid trainer.

9-7 16 miles this morning then 10 miles tonight. I think I figured out how it feels to bonk, I should have eaten something about an hour before the evening ride.

mtd 79/100

I feel go now except for a tiny headache. I'm currently drinking water as fast as I can.

First cyclocross race of the season this morning. Was in the 30 minute "C" race. Turned 6 laps and put 7 miles on the odometer. Started a bit slow and lost a few positions early on, but as soon as the engine came up to speed, I gained them back. Came in 17th place in a field of 31 racers.

MTD: 68 miles

After two days of no riding, trying to get over being sick, I finally went for a short ride. A whopping 13 miles, but it was fun.

Being sick really puts a hit on riding!

Goal: 300 miles

Did the 50km ride, had a lot more climbing than expected, still I made it, and at a pretty decent clip considering the amount of climbing!

September 8 - 50km / +520m / 22.1km/h average speed
MTD - 200.9km / 600km
TTD - 1,132km since June 25, 2013

9/3: 3 Miles. A slow-paced ride with my mother to a farm stand for some fresh veggies(my garden hasn't produced anything more than a weed since I tried planting veggies). I let her set the speed, and I don't think we went over 8 MPH except maybe once on a descent(but I wasn't keeping track, I only turned the computer on because to track the distance).

9/8: 30.6 Miles. CRAZY HEADWIND on today's ride! After my 5-day hiatus, I should have cut the ride short at 10 miles (of which I averaged 12mph). My overall average speed today was only 12mph. Come to find out the wind speed was 15-20mph this afternoon so I guess that doesn't make my AVS seem too bad

MTD: 44.2 Miles (Goal: 300 Miles ...and I will succeed this month!)
YTD: 957.9 Miles (Goal: 1,000 Miles)

I have two rides lined up for this week, a 25 miler "sometime midweek" with another gravitational-challenged rider I met on the path today, and a solo 50-miler (depending on the time/weather I may feel up to riding a full metric) next weekend.

If August was a slow start then September is a fast start. At 166 miles already. May consider increasing my goal to 600 miles. Who am I kidding, never rode 600 miles in a month, of course I gonna shoot for it. Rested on Sept 1 and rode every day since. Wife is complaining. Have some personal issues this week that will no doubt cut into my riding. Found it somewhat easier to rack up some miles with a morning and evening ride. Hopefully I'll find some time to finish the MTB.

being that the month is 1/3 of the way finished I'm going to regress from my 180 mile goal that I had last month (but failed to meet)

so we're shooting for 125 miles

MTD 7.5 miles/ 125 miles
MTG 117.5

last month I failed my goal of 180 miles pretty badly... I fell short by 99.5 miles... I had a great ride and then caught a pretty nasty cold with some flu like symptoms that persisted for more then a week and recovery was slow... then it was so hot out along with school for me and the kids I just didn't go out for a ride... i FINALLY got back out tonight... it was after 9pm so I got to put my headlamp to good use.

I got lucky and found my stride to make up for the hilly start. But it was so freaking hot I just wanted the run OVER with.

You will get there just part of the leg abuse

My old knees can't take much more of this garbage. You're young yet, I believe. I'm thinking I have ~20 years on you.
