I got curious the other day and decided to weigh by commuter rig. The bike plus water bottle plus locks plus rack/fenders and lights and such plus my pannier weighed a total of 54 pounds.

What about you??

Mine weights exactly 1 bike.

Fully equipped, my Gazelle weighs around 65 lbs. That includes folding Wald baskets, 2 sets of lights, lock and chain, seat bag with tools, tire kit, pump, tube, pressure gauge, double leg stand, rain gear, and a few other odds and ends.

My Trek 630 with front bag, rear rack and loaded trunk bag, saddle tool bag, and lights comes in at 33 lbs.

Not really sure. I'd guess 40 or 50 lbs for my Workcycles Opafiets and 70 or 80 for my bakfiets. That includes fenders, dynamo, lights, racks, chaincase, locks, etc. Doesn't really matter though since I'm not racing.

My "A" commuter weighs about 18.7 lbs currently and my "B" commuter is 21 now (will shed 1.5 lbs when I dump the fenders and 28 mm tires for the warm season). If I ever buy a new commuter I might actually hit the UCI limit.

My Achielle Omafiets weighs about 40 pounds with lights, racks, etc. but before panniers, water, and so forth.

In the words of a rider I met on the Pelham Park bikeway the other day, "Damn! That's one heavy-ass mutha!"

I've given up on trying to keep the weight down. My new Big Apple tires must weigh as much as the whole bike, and my new double-leg kickstand looks like it would support my entire house. With all this and a Tupperware-full of spaghetti, my bike, in the morning, must weigh at least as much as the heaviest bike in this thread.

1982 Schwinn "world tourist" with alloy wheels, Sturmey-Archer, steel fenders, chain guard, kick stand, rack, single Wald basket, lights, and small sag bag and pump. 34 pounds.

My 1983 Trek 311 has a similar "groupo," but with none of the commuter attachments except an identical sag bag and pump. 24 pounds.

This is simply what entry level bikes weighed during that era. I've made no attempts at light-weighting either bike.

I know weight doesn't matter in a strictly utilitarian sense, but the Trek just feels more responsive, faster, and more fun to ride. Of course geometry and aerodynamics play a role, or it could be just psychological.

78 pounds, or there about... Surly LHT with office bag, grocery pannier, change of clothes, laptop, etc...

27-28 lbs. It used to be 35 lbs when I had the 26" mtb tires and suspension fork.

I haven't weighed it, but pretty sure it's around 18-20 pounds (carbon fiber). Water and backpack probably weigh roughly 5 pounds or so, on average. I really like having a light bike because there are a few places on my commute where I can get off my bike, walk and carry my bike on my shoulder to get around certain obstacles (construction, stairway to avoid pedestrian traffic, etc.).

Both fixed gear, just the bike, nothing on them. Add a front and rear light and that is it.

Mine used to weigh about 35 pounds with out kid seat and panniers.

Panniers would add 15 pounds, kid seat about 10 pounds, kid about 40 pounds.

So a grand total of...100 pounds.

Then add add in my 190 pounds and that's about 300.

Nothing was as rewarding as the day on a very slight uphill when a guy on his evo caught me At a stop and said I was going impressively fast. That was a nice feather in the cap,

Bike #1 : Fixed gear- about 22 pounds, it has full fenders and no racks and panniers.
Bike #2 : Fixed gear/SS- about 29 pounds, it has full fenders and a small front rack.
Bike # 3: Singlespeed- about 34 pounds, with full fenders and front rack, this one has heavy duty wheels which weigh a ton.

~40kg… as best I can determine. I have no idea what that is in pounds. Edit: ~88 lbs apparently.

My Dahon Mu P8 with two fully loaded panniers is about 43 lbs, i modifed the gearing to compensate with a 39 tooth chainring.

Fully loaded? I'm going to estimate 40lbs or so.

Mmm...estimating here:
-Bike stripped with just pedals = 28lbs
-Rear Rack = 2lbs
-Bag of clothes = 1lb
-Under-saddle bag, combined with lights = 1lb.

TOTAL = About 32lbs. mmm, I need a lighter bike....

A long time ago I weighed it with the method of standing on a scale with and without the bike. Surly CrossCheck built frame-up with not-light-parts, if I recall correctly it was about 24lb stripped down, and 35lb in commuting mode.

But fully-loaded with my fat a$$, it's pushing 300.
