Today I finally got around to getting all the built up muck and grime off my commuter. My wife did not appreciate the cleanliness of the cassette and chain, so I figured I'd share with some people who might appreciate it. Unfortunately I forgot to take a "before." picture. I use wet-lube, so every cog had caked on grease/muck, the chain looked like it was dripping with slop and it was black and brown. Here's the after: Pic of the drivetrain and then the whole bike all spic and span.

My wife is the same way about my bikes.

It looks like you just brought it home from the lbs.

Thankfully I don't have a wife...just a fiance. He doesn't mind when I clean my bike, as long as I clean his too!!!
That's a very snazzy looking drive train btw. Do you get pedantic and feel the need to clean and lube everything else while you're at it though?

Thundershowers here today. No riding or work.
Clean the bikes, polish my bike shoes and toenails and have a beer.

A clean drive train on a well used bike is a thing to be admired for sure!

Nice looking bike.

Rain here also, and they are saying snow with accumulation for tomorrow morn'. Might be a good idea to do the same here.
Your bike looks great by the way.

Yep. I take the chain & cassette off and soak it in eco-solvant while I clean the rest of the bike. Then I put it back on and lube it up. Probably won't look that nice for long

Looks like your bike wants to join a circus trapeze act.

Nice. Now I feel guilty for neglecting my own bike. Tomorrow is devoted to cleaning, adjusting and replacing. Thanks for the motivation!

That is why I married a cat 2 racer. Whenever I buy something, she says "where is mine".

When we got engaged she did not want a diamond ring but a Ti Tandem e.g Tibikefor2

I would trade you wife in for a new one....
