Shoe recommendations with toe clips please.

I usually ride clipless, but I want to be able to hop off my bike and go right to work. I can wear sneakers at my job.

I was just wondering if anybody had ideas on what works good with toeclips.

Adidas Sambas worked for me.

I've found most indoor soccer shoes work just fine.

I generally wear nothing but sneakers. Anything without a giant basketball sneaker sort of toe works.

Since you ride clipless, why not get some Egg Beaters and wear mtn bike shoes that look like sneakers. That's what I do.

I checked out the Sambas, of course they don't have my size, but they are along the lines of what I need. Regular sneakers have really fat heels now and I kick my chainstays all the time. I might try some different indoor soccer shoes. we'll see.

Try online. I got a good deal on the last pair I bought, using froogle.

I used tennis shoes and that worked fine until I started extending my rides out beyond 30 miles. At that point, I started to get hot spots because sneakers have a very flexible sole. I purchased Lake Mtb Shoes and used them without cleats. Easy to walk in, no problem.

When I finally switched to clipless, I got Frogs and used the same shoes. Since I don't ride to work everyday, I leave whatever shoes I'll want to use in my office the day before.

You should check Zappos.com. In addition to soccer shoes, a lot of the "lifestyle" sneakers are good for cycling.

For everyday toeclip shoes, anything with a clean profile will work.
Avoid knobbly soles, protruding bits of stuff (eg lacing systems)on the uppers. Some of the lighter weight trail shoes work very well.

Bikes: IRO Angus; Casati Gold Line; Redline 925; '72 Schwinn Olympic Paramount

Vans "Old Skool." Nice low profile, comfortable, and not horribly casual.
