Non-cycling looking cycling jacket

Hi All,

I'm looking for a cycling jacket that doesn't look like a cycling jacket!

What it shouldn't be:
1. Some garish florescent colour
2. Very tight
3. Short

What it should be:
1. At least shower proof
2. Mid length, ideally with a fish tail to protect my bottom when it's wet
3. Wearable to the pub without looking like a plonker

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

https://www.betabrand.com/ has a range of nice bike-to-work clothing including a jacket and a hoodie.

I have a Carhartt parka, and sweatshirt , and a LaCrosse jacket , none are bike jackets

all 3 are Neon Yellow-Lime, with safety reflective stripes.. none are Bike shop sold.

I like the color that sticks out like a road side worker in the dark wet season ..

I have a Showers Pass Portland jacket it's Butt flap and reflective patch snaps Up & they're Grey.

and another from jacket Patagonia, LL Bean catalogs are in my mailbox they have jackets and parkas

.. you get a Hood with a Parka. with a Jacket you wear a Hat.

Plus ...
there is the Green Pepper pattern company and Home sewing machines Made

We had expelled the King's 'Plonkers' in 1776 which has something to due with Saturday's National Holiday.

I think you need to spring for the Brooks inspector gadget jacket. If you don't want cycling specific maybe look at popular jackets within the backpacking crowd. Those tend to be light weight, breathable and might be long enough in the back

Here is one I have been looking at, the Chrome Windshirt. I have their Storm Cobra rain jacket and am very happy with it.

Yeah the windshirt is getting close. What I really want is some thing like this: Barbour x Tokihito Yoshida - Motorbike Shirt - Brotherhood Mag

But a bicycle version.

Garish fluorescent colors, tight fitting, and short are, to my mind, the characteristics that make a cycling jacket. While I can well understand why you might want a jacket without these characteristics, I'd suggest what you want is not a cycling jacket.

Yeah good point. I suppose I was hoping that someone might have found a non cycling jacket that they were using for cycling and had the characteristics I mentioned.
