I did that once through my graduate university. I was living in the transient graduate residence and went through the proper channels and even posted my own sign and asked people and no one claimed it so I won a well worn Rossin. Which was a great bike and I loved and regretted selling.
Anywho, is it me or does that fork look wonky? The crown and headset seem not lined up like they should. But all in all it looks like a nice bike, and I wish you luck. The next time I'm at the plaza, and if it's still there, I'll ask. I'll see if I can put up a sign. |
Little energy today leaves me wondering why...
I rested over the weekend, but had legs of lead today. Oh well. I made it in just the same. Warm weather is on the way. Yay! |
Coldish morning at 32F, but warming to 66 today. Rest of the week looks to be 45 - 50+ in the mornings. Wow!
Happy Monday! |
The heavy Dell laptop along with combined 30 pounds of steel fixed gear, rack and commuting stuff felt pretty sluggish compared to my 35 mile joy ride yesterday. It's been too long between decent rides on the road bike. I've got a couple more days when I'll need the laptop, and then I'm switching to the road bike for this brilliant spring like weather! Nice fast-rolling 25mm tires are on order and should be here just in time.

One thing to be aware of, for those in their first or second year of commuting, when the days first turn nice like this it draws a mass of people out - on foot, bikes, skates - and most of them act like they've never been on a path before. Or a sidewalk or bike lane for that matter. So be ready; it's the time of year when we have the most danger from other users on the Greenways and paths.
Another butt-crack early commute, left the house about 5:15 (was shooting for 5) to make my 7 AM staff meeting. I rode today because it will be about 70 with a 15+ MPH tail wind this afternoon, plus lots of rain and flooding forecast later this week. Had 10-12 MPH in my face which made for a ton of wind noise coming in, and slow, but oh well. Should be awesome going home. |
Ohh yeah did see something weird this morning. It was fairly dark and I saw some sort of rounded object at the edge of the street. As I got closer I realized it was a bird, a robin, and it was FAT, just sitting there. I was like WTF?? Came back around for another look, and it apparently was dead. But it was sitting there upright with its eyes open. Very weird looking. Gonna look for it again on the way home when it's light out.

Maybe not fat but bloated with decomposition gasses? Mmm a fermenting foul.

Left the house at 5:15, 21 degrees crystal clear sky, light 10 KT headwind, fantastic sunrise, minimal traffic as always that time of the morning, exchanged good morning greeting from the 2 usual woman joggers got to love it when the commute works out that way well OK the temp could of been warmer.
|
Wow, I know it's not spring yet but at 45F sure felt like it!
|
Mid-60's for me this morning... but the trade-off was 25mph headwinds.
|
32F and supposed to be windier . I just got asked to work some extra today and wrestling with staying later or enjoying the pretty day...
|
This morning marks the beginning of my now nearly 20 mile round trip commute due to my work changing locations . It's gonna be fun! Currently it is 62 F out and might rain.
|
My first commute since last Tuesday, but I left work early Wednesday due to being ill returning yesterday. So I was very happy to be able to commute this am even with the temp at 28f degrees and light coming up in the sky.
|
This morning's breezes were noticeably warmer, or at least not freezing, which signals the warmth to come. 75 degrees on the commute home. Wheeeeeee.

About 13 degrees warmer than yesterday morning. Back to the shorts only.
I've always liked watching my shadow. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=508356 |
Beautiful morning in NC today, sunny and warm. I took a breather on Monday after riding 108 miles over the weekend. The weather was great yesterday as well, but sometimes you gotta listen to your body. Rode my cyclecross bike today since there is supposed to be 0% chance of rain and it doesn't have fenders. The weather forecast is looking good until at least this weekend, so I should be able to ride the rest of the work week.
|
50 degrees this morning, which is the warmest morning commute I've had since probably back in October. Rain came through early this morning so the streets were wet, but the sun was out by the time I left. Brisk head wind, but given the warm temp it wasn't that annoying.
Now that it was warm enough I started seeing the road bikers back out getting started on their season. |
Going to work yesterday morning took 83 minutes. The exact same route going home took only 67 minutes.

Good luck - I hope the new route works out for you.

Beautiful weather here today. About 60 on the way in, and 75ish on the way home, but very windy. 20 miles each way. Pretty slow on the way home.

The dominant features of the day's commute were downed trees that were freshly cleared off the ARBT, and a lot of water running out of Lake Natoma. Locals are furious about the dumping of the storm water, but the rules say Folsom lake has to keep a reserve capacity and Natoma acts like a sump, so when Folsom goes, Natoma goes too.
Morning, getting started. This is usually a LOT lower, those islands are dry land for the salmon fishermen. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1504/...6ff87135_c.jpgUntitled by Darth Lefty, on Flickr Evening, much higher https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1520/...3275a96b_c.jpgUntitled by Darth Lefty, on Flickr |
This mornings commute was so nice with the temp at 43f degrees and partly cloudy skies. It is supposed to get close to 70 today. The ride home will be extended to enjoy the weather!

Nice ride in at 53 degrees. I saw one rec cyclist out. Starting to see them a little more often as it warms up.
Perhaps the time change this weekend will scare the morning ones away for a bit longer though. |
