Fitting some Nitto Albatross bars..

Not sure if I'm in the right forum but figure I'd post here since it seems that a lot of commuters ride the Albatross.
So anyway, I recently purchased the Albatross. My prior setup was a dialed in Nitto Moustache bar. The stem was a 130mm quill with some angle which effectively made the stem 90mm center to center. That was great for the moustache. I just mounted the Albatross on the same stem and now I feel cramped. My question before I start purchasing (and I know to each his own but I need a ballpark answer), do I need to go as high as the moustache (i'm not riding the albatross flipped or anything like that)? What size stem do you all have? 130 to 150MM?

Hmm, it sounds like you're doing the opposite of what I'm trying to do with each bar. As far as I know, Albatross is meant to be closer and upright, Moustache is meant to be stretched out. Details:

Right now I ride an Albatross bar on a 90s MTB which has a very stretched out top tube. To get a more comfortable upright position, I replaced the original 110 mm stem and flat bar with a 80 mm high rise quill stem, and then used the Albatross to bring the hand grips even further back.

Recently bought a Moustache bar to play with. I actually called up Rivendell and asked them about it, and they said that it was usually specced to stretch things out,
so to make a XO style hybrid, I'll probably again replace a 100 mm or so stem and flat bar with a short Dirt Drop stem and the Moustache.

I hope that helps.

ha.. I'm doing this on an 88 Specialized Rockhopper. My understanding is high and short with moustache unless you like that stretched out feel. I had it on a longer and that reach was too much...I felt like I might as well be using normal drops. With my short and high it was perfect in any position, flats, drops, etc..

Man..we could have traded as I'm trying to sell my nitto moustaches at the moment.

Thanks
