A Lamp Unto My Feet...

At a family get-together yesterday, my 6-year-old "niece" showed up with the brightest LED-sneakers I have ever seen. The whole sole lit up in the solid or flashing color of your choice, or a full-on disco dance-floor of alternating colors.

My wife asked where the batteries go and my "niece" said, "No batteries...they plug in!" Sure enough they had a usb recepticle.

I looked online and a few companies make these full-sole LED shoes in adult sizes, and they say 5-6 hours run time on a charge. And most are under $30!

I won't be doing any regular night-time commuting until next fall, but since I wear regular sneakers with toe-clips, I am going to see about picking up a pair in black for next season!

Here's what they look like:

Do they stay lit all the time? Or just during movement like the ones I've seen before?

I thought I included a link and a photo, but apparently I didn't.

I think I've seen something like these being peddled (ha!) in one of those middle of the mall walkway booths.
