big fan of my stanley thermos - these days it's most often yogurt or oatmeal with nuts and fruit in there, but in the winter I love making a big batch of soup/stew for the week!

I have a small lunch box that fits in the bottom of my pannier. In my case I always put it in the right side

I don't bring food when work says they are going to get us lunch. A few coworkers will text me if an email comes in after I leave, so that I don't pack a lunch that day.

I too would be curious to know.

I think this is what I will do also. Accept my work doesn't buy us lunch. Sounds like you have some good co-workers too.

I commuted for 10 years. Either around the waist, or in a pannier, I carried an old Tamrac camera bag. Usually one half was taken up by a glass peanut butter jar filled with whatever (usually left overs). The rest of lunch was whatever I could fit in the rest of the bag. Maybe supplemented with coke and chips from the vending machine. In the end I chose by what was convenient to carry (size) and the need to use the microwave (glass container).

It is bribery! They buy us food to make us not think they are going to cut us all lose. They are going to move or displace us all in the next few years. They want us all to work in another city one and half hours from where I live. Coworkers are great! except they keep retiring. Job is for the birds.

I am a expert at making "Musgo" stew.

Thats when you open the fridge and say "This ***** Must Go!".

Thats when I take all the leftovers, the doggy bags, unused veggies and throw them in a big pot with spices. I will sweeten it up with some onions, fresh corn in season, olives, and sometimes some frozen veggies if the contents are heavy on meats and such. Bring it to a boil in a Cast Iron Enamel pot that my gramma owned, and then put it in tupperware and store it in the freezer. Usually have a couple in the fridge but generally grab a frozen one for the trip to work.

At work, I will put it in a ceramic bowl, and microwave until hot. Sometimes I will add half a bag of ramen noodles, sometimes not. Usually have a couple pieces of fruit and yougert as well.

I am fortunate at work such that I can keep a supply of ramen noodles, cans of tuna and salmon, a couple of canned goods for when the Musgo stew is not enough or if I got to work especially late.

Regards,
Crankster

I do a mix of things but pretty much every morning I put a banana in my lunch bag to eat after riding in, then heat up a frozen breakfast sandwich or burrito in the microwave about an hour later. For lunch, I'll either eat a frozen meal (I like the Gardein pasta and "meat"balls) or go to the dining hall or a restaurant. I have a stash of dried apricots and almonds in my desk drawer, sometimes trail mix. I also like to have a few packets of oatmeal (so light to transport!!), tea bags, and miso soup. Throw in an apple or orange for another snack and I'm usually set.

I also like to do a smoothie when I'm organized with frozen strawberries, ripe banana, oat milk and protein powder or tofu.

I have 2 work sites...
1) A big regional hospital with 3 fantastic cafeterias. I never have to leave the building there. Nor to I want too!!!!
2) A blighted, urban, neighborhood, clinic in the middle of a "food dessert". I never leave the building here too. BUT That means I bring my brown paper bag lunch.

P.S. I ride my bike into work in both places and can bring my bike into my work area in both places.

You're poisoning yourself with all the chemicals in those.

Learn to do basic cooking in the Crock Pot and Instant Pot. I don't want to read about you coming down with cancer 20 years from now. ;-)

Today for lunch, I had left-overs from these two recipes I made on the weekend:
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/22...eef-pot-roast/
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/21...shed-potatoes/

My wife and I will each have 3 more meals from that one evening of cooking.

You could halve that pot roast recipe and do it in the Instant Pot and do the potatoes in a regular pot at the same time.

I used to love to play some music and drink wine while cooking, but I got to drinking too much and have knocked that off. Now, I just have beer; as I find a good beer is self-limiting.
