SPD Commuter Shoes in Wide Width?
Any leads on an SPD compatible commuter shoe (one I could wear around work all day) in an E or EE width? My MTB shoes won't cut it, so the only other options I see are to keep a spare set of shoes at work or ditch my beloved clipless pedals.

Don’t know what kind of work you do, but I would not want to wear my SPD cycling shoes around at work all day. That would be really annoying. I used to leave shoes at work.
That said, Shimano makes some of their shoes in wide. I am a 4E and have been wearing Shimano SPD shoes for a long time.

Ever since I grew into my feet at 16y.o. I discovered that getting the next normal (11 D) size up got me the extra width I need (10 EEE). The extra length no longer bothers me at all. I've been doing this for both dress and sport shoes for decades. I sometimes get cycling shoes two European sizes longer which pretty much does the same thing. WAY easier to find just about any (un)reasonable length you can imagine. Finding shoes even a little bit wider than normal, requires witchcraft at best, and outright necromancy at worst.

I used to go back and forth on platform vs SPD. But it's been quite some time since my last go at SPD. And I think the shoe fit might be part of why.

An important note for Lake sizing is to find their sizing chart on the website and look at which shoes are actually wide. I mistakenly purchased the 303 winter boots, they were labeled as wide, but on the sizing chart were really more a medium width. I had cold feet until I moved to Shimano winter boots in a wide.

Thanks for the comments. I'm a school band teacher. Not too much walking, but I do need to take a walk to the restroom, office, and/or other classrooms from time to time. I have MTB shoes in wide width, but "commuter" shoes or "touring" shoes often have more pliable soles and deeper recesses to make walking more practical. I used to use Shimano MT32L commuter shoes, but they're not wide and I'm starting to get irritations/bunions any time I wear medium width shoes now.
It's entirely reasonable to just keep a pair of shoes at work to change into, but I'd rather not.

There are so many styles available with SPD. I've had sandals and running shoes with SPD. I think there are even hiking boots.

Yeah, but only a select few are available in wide, and my search doesn't come up with any "casual" styles.
