Light selection
Ok, I'm starting my commute...probably next week. I have a flashing tail light, and need, i guess, some kind of headlight. All my roads will be well lit, so I need one to let the cars notice me, not to help me see. Essentially my morning commute is pre rush hour, so I can manage the big, well lit roads easily. In the afternoon I'll take back roads to avoid cars. Anyway, yeah. Just looking for something basic and affordable. Thanks in advance!

How about a Cateye EL300? It has a relatively large lens. It's supposed to go for 30 hours on one set of 4 AA's.

To be noticed, I'd actually go with the EL200.
The EL300 doesn't flash.

I like the EL500, and you can get that combo'ed with a blinky red back light for like $39.99 at performance. I use one EL500 and a NightRider headlight & a Blackburn Mars 3.0 on the back, with the other Cateye blinky. I go on 98% lit roads though.
