Bikes: a bunch.

Here's a newer picture of mine (than the last thread):

I've since lost the bullhorns and plaid, and moved to North roads and broquade.

Bikes: a mountain bike with a cargo box on the back and aero bars on the front. an old well-worn dahon folding bike

I've seen a few fixies with padded top tubes. Do fixies raise your chances of slipping off the seat on to the top tube?

i think most of them are to keep your bars from dinging your top tube; also maybe extra protection when you lock er up?

I like the look of those IRO RR's. I'm currently specing a SS commuter. Maybe I should consider an IRO frame. What kind of steel are they made of? "Proprietary heat treated tubing" (website description) doesn't tell me a whole lot.

The pad is good if you take your bike up your apt stairs, and dings, and also for looks I suppose.

The RR's are made of something like 4130 cro-mo. Not Reynolds or Columbus, but it's pretty strong and comfortable too.

My first from-scratch build, a few months after I decided to "scrounge up a few parts and build a beater." She's a little too pretty for porn, but I'm not letting that stop me.

Bikes: White IRO Angus

The Iro Angus is Reynolds 631 tubing, but not really super suited to a commuter bike (though I commute on mine daily).

that's all that matters. I didn't say it didn't do the job or that it wasn't nice.

The rack is an Axiom Streamliner Sport Tour, the only lightweight one I found that would match the matte silver fenders (See? This is why I can't build beaters.) I had to squeeze it together a bit to fit the 120mm dropouts, not really something I like to do with aluminum, but it's holding up fine. Granted, all I've used it to haul are my locks.

my raleigh capri.

I also have a motobecane roadie that I never ride anymore. I took off the innertube wrap on the top tube and now have a NR 15W bar-mounted.

If it ever stops raining I will commute on this (with different wheels). Until then it's a full fendered beast for me. The headlight was removed for the pic and I have blinkies on my bag.

So cool. I wish I had an reason to own a folding bike. If I did it would be very similar to that.
