My commuter is called the Urban Assault Vehicle. The roadie does not have a name as yet.

I call mine "THE CLUNKER" .

My roadie is called "the beast" when compared to my mtb or tourer
|
I call my favorite road bike, " the pig"
|
"The Kona",
"The Cannondale", "The Trek", and "The Old Trek". About naming vehicles, long ago my son thought VW made a model called "The Rattletrap". Seems I gave the old bucket a defacto name without ever thinking much about it. |

I call my road bike "Marie Therese Charlotte." She was queen of France for 20 minutes. And my other, singlespeed commuter is called "Babette," staying w/ the French theme as she's an old Peugeot Course. I like to give the female names because I don't like to ride guys.
|
I don't name my bikes. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing it, I just don't care to. Well maybe if something breaks on the bike I might curse at it and call it a piece of ****.

They change often but lately, they have been:
"Pink and black" for the Trek 7.2 FX, a.k.a. "the Trek" "my Giant" for the late Giant Cypress, a.k.a. "the red one" "green bike" for the olive green 1972 Raleigh Record beer hauler Not very creative, but descriptive enough. |
My custom-built tourer didn't have a name on the frame. Over several beers a friend and I named it
"Kyoto Accord" No one seems to get the joke. When I custom built up a tandem from a Norco frame for my wife for our twenty-fifth anniversary, we called it "Venticinque" She's Italian. No one seemed to get it My commuter bike is actually a Giant, but I've covered up the name with tape. Everyone asks "What's the name of your bike?" I need a snappy comeback for that one. |

When it's jumping gears while I'm putting out big watts uphill, it's a ****ing Piece of ****, even though I know it's my hack adjustment causing it :o
I tell my friends it's my beater for grins, since I am fortunate enough to have a better bike for special occasions. |
