I may not go as fast as kokomo but I got it made.

I have my own shower and bathroom, as much closet space as I could ever want, and at times I have as many as 4 bikes at my workplace, indoors of course.

I have big time respect for you guys who just towel off and have to haul everything.

Oh, plus I get to sit here at work on the forums and lastly, I'm gonna take a nice little ride during lunch on an absolutely stunning day!

doughboy 05-31-07 12:20 PM

I hate you.

:)

Me too, my own locker and shower. Have to leave the bike outside chained up but its right next to our security guard's office so I don't worry about it :)

DataJunkie 05-31-07 12:46 PM

Well... I have no need for a shower or locker. Don't sweat that much.

We have showers in a neighboring building.
I have my own cube that I store just about anything I want... with my own key to my cabinets.
I start work whenever I want and leave roughly 8 hrs later.
My boss is in Wisconsin.
I can work from home.
My bike is parked in our cafe about 1000 feet from where I am sitting.
I could park it in my cube if I felt like it.
We have a fridge that I can store almost anything I like in. Consequently, I have a pile of food in it and on my desk.

To top it all off I live and work in the Denver Metro Area.

HA!

do you work at home?

daredevil 05-31-07 01:08 PM

Just got back from that lunch time ride. Right out my back door is a nice ride along a remote wild and scenic river currently running bank full from the melting mountain snowpack. Now you can hate me more doughboy. :)

badhat 05-31-07 01:20 PM

we have showers and lockers here and i lock my bike in an electrical closet.

its pretty sweet.

we also have an incentive program to encourage people to be active and riding every day nets ne a $50/year gift card at the mall here.

A stunning day? In Manitscolda? Don't make me laugh! (great description by the way!)

workingbike 05-31-07 01:49 PM

Oh! I also have a shower, its communal but I'm the only one that uses it, I park the bike in the same washroom (Its Big) and I have lots of place for stuff.

HA!

Is that a typo? 1000ft is like me parking the bike at the coffee shop on the corner of the main drag then walking to work.

substructure 05-31-07 02:00 PM

I have oodles of space for gear and bike. My bike sits outside my office door.

But, there are dozens of NON-working showers in this building. It's an old hotel turned office complex. All the old shower rooms are used as storage and none of them have working water. teh suxor!!!

Oh yes, it does warm occasionally in Manitscolda. Presently a calm and sunny 70 with no humidity.

It is more like 500. I am terrible at measuring.
Anyhow, I can see it from where I sit.

SDRider 05-31-07 03:59 PM

I'm right up there with you. There is a shower here at work and lockers in the bathroom as well. I can keep my bike in my cube and I have a towel, toiletries, shoes and a belt that I leave at work. I usually leave a pair of slacks or two here as well and take them home once a week for cleaning.

I'm one of two regular cycle commuters in a company of almost 200 employees.

max-a-mill 06-01-07 06:29 AM

i have no showers and i sweat like hell on mornings like this.

i like to think thats why no one bothers me here at work.... :D

i still smell better than all the older ladies round here overloaded on perfume! makes me almost pass out sometimes... some peoples idea of personal hygene is a little crazy to me.

You must like taking hikes. 1000' away! Whatsa matter wit you?

Nicodemus 06-01-07 07:04 AM

I have an full on-site sports facility, bike paths everywhere, and my own large office to use as my personal laundry station. And I can spend days trolling BF without doing a single bit of work.

:D

pedalMonger 06-01-07 07:30 AM

I have a 4.7 GHz wifi iHelmet w/wetware interface, so I can do all my work and post here while riding my bike.

I could actually DO my laundry if I wanted to but you got me beat on the not having to work thing.

Nicodemus 06-01-07 12:12 PM

If it's any consolation I only get to enjoy this vegetation and this cycling utopia for one more month :(

I have some of those benefits, but not all. A rarely used shower, a mostly scenic ride out of Boulder, CO, where the weather is generally pretty favorable to bike commuting. Oh, and one other thing: A pass for the bus, which allows bikes on it. My ride's 22 miles, but the bus can take me about 13 of it. Tomorrow thinking about riding all the way in, but getting some bus assistance in the evening, when the wind tends to kick up and showers sometimes roll through.

Which version are you running, v.1337?

TRaffic Jammer 06-04-07 01:34 PM

Indoor, underground parking accessed by magnetic pass only (but I put it behind a partition on my floor near my desk ...98% don't even know it's there), private shower stall, change room, 24/7 work gym access. 5bucks a week off my pay... no problemo.
