I use Marathon Plus tires on my one bike and almost never carry a spare tube. I do generally have a patch kit though. Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to remount a marathon plus on the road anyway. Those things were tough.

Even with my lighter tires (Primo Comets) I have never had a flat. I don't know if I am lucky or if it is the area because I have ridden every night for the past 2 years.

I haven't owned any marathons, but all the tires that I've had trouble mounting new have always come off easy after being heated up on a ride. Any thoughts?

If the Marathon is a very stiff tire like the Armadillo is then the VAR is the best tool for that type of stiff tire. You use a good tire lever like the Soma to get the tire off then use the VAR to get it back on. The VAR eliminates any possiblity of pinching the tube, damaging the rim or tire.

The VAR: https://www.cyclebasket.com/products....d=m5b93s281p92

I use Marathon Supremes, I only have 6 miles from home to the office. I keep a spare pump and tube at the office, nothing on the bike (use to carry the pump and tube, decided I didn't want to deal with that as I've got a floor pump at home).

Check that, I keep my tire levers in my rack bag because I don't have two sets of good levers (yet).
