Dumb Q of the day "What does Bump Mean"

I havea dumb forum question. What does bump mean. I have tried to figure it out, but I guess I am not as up to date on technology as I think I am. I don't even know how to text.

Thanks,

BUMP It bumps it to the top so it is one of the first on the list. Some people may not go to page 2 or 3 and will miss it.

Notice how on forums threads fall down the list and off the front page when no one is posting in them.

"Bump" is what you do to put it back at the top. Often seen in for sale forums where responses are little and front page exposure is a key marketing strategy or in threads where a question may be worded poorly and people ignore it.
