Protege 9.0 Wireless Computer

After hours of searching and reading on the forums and google, I decided to get the Planet Bike Protege 9.0 Wireless computer for $40 w/ shipping and handling.

Protege 9.0 Wireless

I couldn't find this thing anywhere online! I had to find a seller on ebay who had some in stock so I could order it.

Everyone was out of stock or in back order for this computer. I figured this must be a decent computer for the price if no one has it in stock right?!

Well, I got so caught up in looking for the unit, I forgot to read reviews on it.

I've already purchased the item and it's on the way as I type this. I was just wondering if anyone has this or know anyone who has it and has used it. I tried searching for reviews on it but I came up emtpy. Search on these forums and still came up with nothing.

People had great results with the Protege 9.0 Wired so I was hoping the wireless would be just as good. If anyone has any valuable feedback or input please let me know. I don't know if I should crack this thing open once I get it or send the thing back.

It works. You'll have to replace the batteries in about 6 months. The set up wasn't difficult. I don't know what else to tell you. I can't believe that you had to pay $40 though. When I got mine last fall there were dozens of the wireless model listed on eBay. Maybe it's a seasonal thing.

Love it!

My batteries last much longer. Well, i just got the 9 wireless, but the 8 (wired) battery lasted a long time.
Best thing about this computer is all the info it shows on the screen at one time. And it's cheap!
Only thing I wish they had was a backlight.

I got the 9 wired, then the 9 wireless. Both work great. Haven't had them too long to replace the battery, though.

I have been looking for a 9.0 wireless and already have 9, 8, and 4 wired units. I'm guessing they are trying to come out with an "Aero" version to replace the basic square model (see PerformanceBike web site) and they are just in between.
