Breakfast: Not hungry before or after my ride.
Is that a good sign? I should be starving after riding but I'm not.
I try to eat a bananna and drink some coffee before I ride out, but nothing too heavy or i feel sick.
When I get to work we have tons of food but I don't get hungry till 11 or something.
Anybody else that way?
Know if it's unhealthy?
I don't want to strip my muscles.

If your hungry, EAT! If not (and you know you need to get calories/ protein/ carbs in you) have an "instant breakfast" or some such when you get to work.

Know if it's unhealthy?
If you're trying to shed a few pounds, keep doing what you're doing. Otherwise, have piece of fruit, bowl of oatmeal, or go to a health store and buy some whey protein.

I have a PB&J at work after the ride. Fruit sugars, carbs and peanut protein.

It really depends. My ride is 28 each way.
Some mornings I am not hungry due to eating quite a bit the night before. At times I wait until 9am for breakfast.
Other days I wake up famished and eat before I leave and at work when I get there.

Not sure if that's good or not. If you've been commuting for a long time I can imagine that your body just doesn't really care about it anymore.
Though, I've been commuting for 2 days now, and had to eat a lot. Bowl of cereals and milk this morning before leaving, 2 slices of cake after getting at the job, followed by a banana. Only an hour after that my body suggested that I might need another 2 slices of cake with 4 sandwiches at lunch. I did forget to eat my apple though

That's not an enormous ride, but it's not right around the block either. Do you also ride that same distance home? Are you a "big meal at the end of the day" person? If I eat a heavy meal in the evening, or really anything much after about 9 pm, I'll have low appetite the next morning. I've experimented some with the "breakfast like a king, dine like a merchant, sup like a pauper" approach, and while it needs some adjustment if you burn more calories in the PM, something along those lines seems to work well for me.

I try to eat a bit before I head out, and also have some water/drink of some sort without caffeine. I normally am not hungry right when I get to work, but rather about an hour after arriving. Same thing on ride home. My ride is 10 miles each way. I think that it is my body needing to settle in after a ride before chowing.
Now, I am also trying to lose some weight too, so I have been spacing out more regular, though smaller, meals, so I am eating on a regular basis. I think that this constant flow of nutrients is what is helping me out. I know that it is working, since I am losing weight nicely, but still have a lot of energy and feel great.

Well, I eat about 1600-1700 cals a day.
being 5'10 and 163 I'll probably lose some weight doing 25 miles a day (with hills). I think to maintain my weight I should be eating around 2500 cals and I don't usually do that.
I want to lose some weight but I firmly believe that the only way to lose weight is to eat and keep your muscles strong.

Listen to your body. If it's hungry, feed it. If not, don't. Lots of athletes don't eat breakfast, google "intermittent fasting"; there's lots of health benefits to skipping breakfast, but it's not for everyone (YMMV).

I have a similar distaste for eating when I first wake up. Sometimes if I go to bed hungry I will wake up hungry, that helps. I can tell you I am a lot faster when I eat beforehand (12mi commute one way here too). Sometime I grab a couple Lara bars and nibble on them as I go.

If everything is working right, your body will tell you when to eat. Your one who stops eating when your full right?
5'10" and 163 is about right. Weight training will tone you if you want to go that way, but you may add weight when you do that.

I concur with all the "listen to your body" advice, but you need also to look beyond the immediate message. If your body says "EAT LOTS FOOD NOW GNOM GNOM" at 8 pm at night, maybe it does need lots of food, but is that a good thing? When you're probably not going to do anything more vigorous than a couple hours of television and then go to bed? Maybe the real message is to adjust the rest of your day's nutrition so you don't want to consume mass quantities in the evening.

I don't know, since I've been riding, i've been eating like a horse! Of course if I had a real terrifying experience on my commute (getting chased by a mean dog or almost hit by a car) I might be hungry for a little while either.

Yep, I eat like a horse too. A little bag of instant oatmeal before I ride to work and another when I'm drinking a cup of coffee. I usually eat a big lunch and a moderate dinner.

When I exercise..I eat a lot more. I had to make it so that I am always carrying a snack w/ me. That is either fruit or vegetables. Because I would grab anything in sight. Seriously! Folks say exercising is suppose to be an appetite supressant. Ugh not for me. I get hungrier and have to eat a little through out the day. And I still eat my meals. I just resigned to making sure my snacks are healthy and keep at least 1 salad a day in the mix.
