I know what you mean, Chris L, about not wanting to go to work. I'm new to commuting (this is my 9th week...and my first post) and I seem to spend my mornings at work replaying that day's ride to work, and then spending the afternoons planning the ride home. It's addictive and I really didn't expect that.

Welcome spininin, I hope you enjoy the Forums.
I really enjoy my ride to and from work, but I have to tell you, it is getting to the time of year where it become increasingly more difficult. This afternoon when I left work, the temp was 30, which isn't bad at all, but...my rear break cable had become frozen. It wasn't anything more than a minor setback, but I know it is just the beginning.
I must fight on...

As someone who's been relying on public transport this week (it's been way too icy to cycle), I agree wholeheartedly.
good thing it's supposed to be milder next week so back in the saddle go I.

Replaying the ride, and planning the next one, sure beats work!

The author, a psychologist, praises activities such as music, writing, various forms of exercise (which would include commuting!) etc. that energize and vitalize life by their addictive nature.
When I was commuting I generally felt addicted to it, too. Sometimes a really rotten incident would temporarily spoil the addiction, but it was possible to get back into the groove.
My main positive addiction now is journal writing. Maybe cycling will appeal to me again someday.... I'm always glad to hear when somebody does become addicted to it.
Hi, Fubar5! Hi, Pete! Hi, Rainman! Hi, Joe! Hi, Lightboy! Hi, everybody!

Personally (and very seriously, Jon,) cycling is one addiction I'm extremely elated about having discovered.
Now I am trying to learn balance! (not the bike...)
...Joe and Rainman, I am counting offenses (which reminds me, where's my calculator? "Charlie Babbitt pulled and hurt neck in 1985...")
