I think this thread is Hilarious personally. It reminds me of a joke with a Daoist monk and a Buddhist monk.... Maybe you've heard it...

He had a hard time coming back on your bike?

Maybe you should surprise him with a nice new city hybrid of his own. You know....

Something MANLY!!!

The GT Transeo Disc 3.0 ~$700

Black is hard to find. You may need to have a UK online retailer import one for you. It sure is what I would want if I was buying an affordable Hybrid right now.

And I do understand the fitting issue that many of the guys described earlier. My bike obviously does not fit him.

...I'm thinking that if he got a simple E-bike with a decent fit, he'd be really happy on short commutes. Of course, I'd ask him if he really wanted it before gifting it to him or anything. No point in a wasted bike.

Haven't heard it, but I've enjoyed some Taoist and Buddhist humor. Some of those old monks can be mean SOB's with an interesting sense of humor, as well. And all of those stories about the interns getting hit with sticks. That part is too much for me.

Glad that someone has been amused here and not enraged.

There you have it. Tell him to flip the coin. Heads: survive. Tails: finger food for the Undead.

Meanwhile, I rode my Beach Cruiser 15 miles from work when my car was in the shop earlier this year. It didn't even occur to me to ask him for a ride.

I probably shouldn't enable him, but he got so emotional the last time he had to ride back on my bike from the mechanic. It was under a mile on a MUP, and he kept saying, "I just had a really hard time coming home on your bike."

Bottom line is that he owes me one.
Your BF is a wimp, and you probably won't change that. Either love him for his good points and overlook his wussiness, or find a new one.

I'm pretty much at the point of loving him for his good points. That's not gonna stop me from the occasional whine about something that aggravates me. It goes both ways. (That's how long-term relationships go, in my experience. My mom and dad (40+ years of marriage) B---- about each other, but they are also perpetually loyal to each other.)

I can't believe this thread just emerged from the dead. I thought we all killed it off a few days ago. Can we have some more comments about the Buddha?

It won't make him any less insensitive. Really.....
