What is your job?

Since this is the commuting section, I would be curious to know what jobs people are commuting by bike, and the different rituals when arriving at work. So, here the questions:

A) Occupation

B) Commuting Distance

C) When at work I a) shower b) change clothes/clean up c) don't change clothes and hope for the best/clean up

D) Where bike is parked

E) Number of years commuting

F) Year-round/part time commuter

For me that's:
A)Budget Analyst
B) 8 miles
C) b
D) Empty office
E) 6 months
F) no snow + 35 F

Hey, Booyah - where do you live ( mean what subdivision/area in Denver) & work and what route do you take?

Maybe this summer sometime I will meet you, if you are anywhere near.

Live just NW of Cherry Creek Reservoir, at the top of DTC. I work in the Meridian office park, NE corner of Lincoln and I-25.

I usually ride down to the cherry creek state park, then essentially down Havana and through the Inverness office area. My commute length depends on what route I take through both the state park and the office parks.

Would be cool to meet up... I'm normally out for a ride on Saturday and Sunday with a couple of other mates, too, either starting at the state park or down in Parker (Lincoln & Jordan). All 3 of us are heading down for the Santa Fe Century in May, too... you going?

Bikes: 2004 Trek 4600 SS, 2016 Cannondale Cujo 2 SS

1) College student

2) My cumulative commuting distance on the average day is usually 5 miles. I usually ride an extra 5 more, but its just laps of campus.

3) Well, in between classes, i wash hands and face, and throw on deodorant as needed

4) During the day, its parked outside of my respective class buildings and dorm, at night, inside my room.

5) Number of years commuting: One

6) Year round baby. Rain or shine, hell or high water, all the time.

On the weekends, after hangovers subside, i usually flush out the remnants of the previous night with a long ride on my SS, usually a deuce deuce or a 15 mile one.

1) IT systems designer
2) 15kms one way
3) I change clothes and clean up
4) I keep my bike in our semi-secure carpark, locked to a rack
5) 10 years or so
6) Part time - we don't have lockers, and hanging the entire winter riding gear set in my office is not an option. I stop riding to work when it's time to change to studded tyres. This means appr. 7-8 months of commuting by bike per year.

Bikes: Bianchi Eros

A) Occupation: US Marine Corps Inspector/Instructor

B) Commuting Distance: 15 miles each way

C) When at work I a) shower b) change clothes/clean up

D) Where bike is parked: in my office.

E) Number of years commuting: 5

F) Year-round/part time commuter: part time fair weather and sufficient daylight.

I noticed there's only one other person who keeps his bike in the office. Is this not an option? I would feel very nervous leaving my bike out of my sight.

I am a vehicular cyclist. Vehicles are not to be parked inside the office.

In my case the bike is not particularly expensive (though it's nicer than most other bikes in the same rack), the rack is well designed and easy to lock into, I have a good set of locks, and the rack is situated in our inner yard which could be described as semi-secure (recording CCTV, limited physical access etc). I can spend the whole day happily surfing the Forums and not worry about my bike.
