hehehe

Ranks right up there with: "I'm leaving this note under your windshield wiper because there are 3 people in the parking lot who saw me accidentally back into your car. They all think I'm a responsible person who's leaving his insurance and contact information."

If there's no divider, signage, or other clear marking that says "this is a bike path, don't park on it," then OP can act by contacting whoever owns the path and get after them to remedy the situation.
  2. The driver(s) may be inconsiderate clowns. It may be perfectly obvious to anyone that you're not supposed to park there, and the driver(s) may have just decided to park there anyway. If this is the situation, then OP can act by contacting the police, the owner of the path, a towing company, whoever, to get a tag slapped on the vehicles in question or worse.
  3. The cyclist may be getting more upset about this than is warranted. Or maybe not -- a lot of people post here about trivial stuff that happens on their commute, and sometimes it's the ruby-throated warbler you saw as you rode past the park, and sometimes it's some behavior that annoyed you, but it's often just thrown out there by way of making conversation. If this is the case, OP may want to check out the "How was the commute today?" sticky thread. There's nothing wrong with "this happened to me on my commute today" threads, but if we all did it... And, if OP really is that upset about this, it's a good opportunity to learn to shake off stuff like that and move on.
These are the right solutions... Most likely the motorists didn't even think about the curb cuts or ramps... why would they look any further then the parking space.

Most likely the city didn't think about the parking lot... they were just tasked with putting a bike path in a park... heaven forbid that someone might actually want to connect beyond the park.

In my area they don't even bother with the curb cuts... bike paths just start and end without any sort of sign or proper termination. When I questioned the city about this, their representative said "we don't want children riding off into the street." Sheesh... children that would make that judgment should not be riding alone. Never mind that adults use bike paths as ways to get from A to B. (BTW we even have one bike path that has stairs... )

Oh well, good luck with this.
