That P-7 flashlight looks interesting, and the price is right.
I wouldn't want to go through eight different modes. Three, maybe. Or just two.
Comments on that site indicate that it doesn't really crank out 900 lumens. What is a realistic number?
Even at half that, it's a burner!

check out the lighting/electronics forum. There's a good 15 page thread on the P7.

I have the 8 mode light. Only use the high function so I couldn't comment on going through all the modes. Not sure about the 900 lumens thing because I don't have anything to compare it to that's even 1/4 as bright.

The NiteRider MiNewt USB. My gf got this when I got her into bicycle commuting a couple of months ago and it's a serious amount of lumens for the money. Being able to charge it at work is great if you're an office monkey. I'll probably be getting one in the next few months to mount on my helmet, in compliment to my Dinotte 200L on my handlebars.
A new messenger bag compnay started up in San Francisco, Rickshaw Bagworks, and their technical messenger bag looks like a seriously good one: https://www.rickshawbags.com/#/produc...cal_messenger/ The PAC bag I use has a similar secondary shoulder strap and that's an awesome feature to have when you need to carry more than 20 - 30 lbs.
I not entirely sure these came out in 2008, but the Planet Bike Spoks are great little lights. Super light, the button battery lasts a decent amount of time, relatively weather resistant, and cheap. I have a red and white one mounted on my helmet and I think it helps to make me considerably more visible. https://ecom1.planetbike.com/3042_1.html
