Since I ride this almost every time I bike to work, I guess it counts: ;)

I roide both my CCM's on the commute today...

The 1933 took me to work... it is getting stripped down for a repaint and I am re-building the wheels.

The 1940 took me home...

Nice! Love both of them.

What color will the '33 be when done?

Sixty Fiver 07-10-08 10:26 PM

The '33 (Rambler) should have a wine / burgundy frame with white fenders, a white chain guard, and burgundy wheels with white pinstripes... I am getting all the chrome on the stem and bars re-plated too.

It's a beautiful riding bike and is mechanically perfect and now needs to look as good as it rides.

The '40 was nothing but a scruffy green frame when I found it and is built with a hodge podge of recycled parts... I put the new wheels on this morning after lacing the old hub into a 27 by 1 1/4 hoop last night.

Here's my commuter. It started out as a mtb then I just went a little overboard with xt parts. I have since this picture put a Brooks b-17 on and a topeak mtx seatpost rack and bag. I also switched to back to xc717 xt hub rims. I guess it's time for a new pic.

I am pretty pleased with the '40 and how a scruffy green frame that was destined for the dumpster evolved into what it is now.

My painter came by the shop today and is very excited to be working on the '33... he also loves old bikes.

I picked up my new Jamis Aurora from Hollywood Pro Bicycles today. I haven't ridden it much, but from what little I have, I can tell i'm going to like this bike. (especially compared to my Huffy)

Thanks. I happen to love the color. I rode it around some yesterday and last night and it is a great feeling bike. Can't wait to ride it to work.

Bianchi Project-3

I don't commute regularly, but here's my "commuter" and errand-runner:

http://www.brilliantmedia.com/cyc/93Project-3.jpg

This is one of the early 29ers with a lugged steel frame. Just put on new rims (nothing special; old ones were wearing through on braking surfaces) and switched from 700x45 Maxxis knobbies, which the bike came with, to 700x28 Conti touring tires. Also recently put on new shifters, brake levers and cables - I've had the bike since new and they finally wore out. Latest addition: Shimano A530 pedals, which are SPD on one side and good, concave platform frame on the other. Upgrading the saddle next....

I have Novara panniers (similar to Ortliebs, with roll tops and waterproof material); handlebar bag got stolen years ago and never have replaced it.

I have a road bike I ride into the city sometimes as well - great way to go for commuting when I know I won't be locking it up outside - just going from home to office/meeting and directly back.

^ Sweet bike, but needs hoods. Other than that it's pretty much amazing!

Here's my daily commuter:

It's a lot of fun to ride, so far. I've had it for a couple of weeks and have already put about 100 miles on it, and I have to say that I love it. Going to have to get brighter lights for when winter rolls around, but the ones i've got on it now work as a pretty good supplement to whatever light is already available when I usually get off work.

she's a great bike... has handle everything i've thrown at here so far. gets to work.. to the watering holes.. and anywhere else i want to go. she doesn't jump too bad either :D

Elad63 07-14-08 03:58 AM

Great looking bike jerseybmx, your paint looks to be in better shape then mine. I haven't decided what size tires to put on it yet. I have 23 to 38's I can put on it. I need to get new brake hood covers and new wrap also. I may go to barcon shifters also.

Here is my commuter. The black box in the back is the battery pack for my 2X 20watt halogen track lights. I am in the process of converting an old rigid mtb to my next commuter bike.

I want to swap out the flat bars for some drops. Riding upright is uncomfortable for me sometimes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

nashbar trekking bars. i love em. Can ride upright and in a semi "drop" position.

Nice Lotus. I used to have a Lotus Odyssey, bought it new back in the early 80's. Now my bro has it down in Mexico. Here's a pic with it's new rims.

I have a rack bag similar to that and LOVE it. So convenient to bring into the store and bring all your valuables and tools with you. I like the new DB bikes...I am still riding my '01 DB Response as a daily beater.

And I notice you ride an SV? I need to get another naked. Opps. thats for another forum.
