Scott At3... you can't get them anymore.

Getting my Portland ready for the winter:

New chain, new cabling, new paint job, everything has been re-packed with fresh grease, and hopefully new seat (this one is awful, but it was a freebie after my last one was stolen).

07 Trek 7.2fx. I got it in early summer 2008 and picked it up for around 250-300 brand new since it was last year's model. I recently did the 2009 AEBT on it.

Here is my addition:

This used to me my road bike. She served me very well and helped me lose 130 pounds. As a reward, I got a new race bike and am starting to turn this one into a full commuter. So far it is very comfortable. Last night was my first commute without a backpack on and it was glorious. I need to replace her shoes with something more puncture resistant and I want to get better lights.

Shape wise they are very similar but you would have to try the AT3 bars to appreciate how well designed they are... at 210 grams they are very light but are also very strong and have just enough flex to really take the buzz out of rough roads.

They were originally designed for xc racing and I can't believe I parted with them.

Don't necessarily come to this thread to see cityscape pix:rolleyes:

noglider 10-22-09 05:45 AM

I enjoyed those pictures, ThePerchik.

ThePerchik 10-22-09 07:20 AM

Thanks Noglider.

My bad, just realized its a thread of the actual bikes, not the commute itself. Will post future shots on the how was your commute thread.

YULitle 10-22-09 07:31 AM

You can't throw your bike in front of those shots?

lbear 10-22-09 10:09 AM

For pictures of the Pacific Northwest I suggested a thread "The Beautiful PNW Photo thread".
Maybe we should start a "My Beautiful Commute Photo Thread" for the commuters. Maybe "Perchik" could start it with his pictures.

I should post some pics of the traffic line-up for parking spaces on campus while I cruise by on my way to the bike rack, which is located right beside the door of the buiding that I need to go into. Beautiful! :p

I think this is an excellent idea. Not necessarily lots of pictures in one post, but hilights--pretty sights along the way--with bikes or without. Sticky this, and I suspect it would be popular.

Nice ride. that bike is exactly what I am looking for. flat bars, steel frame, no front derailer. it has a classic/clean look to it. Nobody sells bikes like this new it seems and i dont understand why. you can get a single speed but you cant get one with gears in back.

noglider 10-22-09 01:30 PM

You mean like this? I picked this up at a rummage sale and fixed it up and hope to find a happy owner. It's old but light and spritely.

Tom - That is a very pretty bike... you just don't see to many Fuji bikes that aren't road bikes.

here she is! 1965 Huffy Moulton 4 Speed!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77...r/IMG_8303.jpg

here she is with a couple of added things:

Marathon Plus tires
Fizik Aliante saddle
1965 Ring Ring english bell

waiting for:
2 rigida rims
spokes
dynohub
install B&M Lights

i enjoyed the pics theperchik! we should totally add a sticky for photos of commute, but with some limitations on quantity per post, only highlights or special photos.
