Here's my new (as of Christmas) 61cm Windsor Cyclo:

My friends that ride fixed tend to get a kick out of that sticker .

I'll be switching out (or painting) the bottle cage to a black one, I just happened to have the blue one sitting around.

Sometime in the near future I'll probably be getter new tires, a rack, and maybe a new saddle. I also think I might need a zero setback seat post and maybe a slightly shorter stem? I'm not sure what that says about my fit.

Where is that, anyway -- is that north/northeast of Heidelberg?
I'm currently commuting from Nuenheim to viernheim, over Ladenburg (the photo is almost neubotsheim/Ladenberg) and Heddesheim...something like 30 miles, nice and flat. It's my longest bicycle commute yet, but so far so good.

I told you, mechanicalron, that you convinced me to buy an LHT.

My 2009 Surly Long Haul Trucker, Hammered Honjos with VO leather mudflaps, Surly Nice Rack, Brooks B17 Champion Special.
I haven't commuted with the Brooks or rack yet, but hopefully will do so in the morning if these thunderstorms roll over. I'm loving the bike, so smooth, and every now and then I'll get this feeling of being on something sturdy and trustworthy, it's a nice feeling.
I still need to mess with the hardware for the front mudflap, and work on precise saddle fore/aft location but I'm very please with my venture into car-free/commuting and a nice retro-modern bike build.

WoW Gene, that is just beautiful! I love the fenders and the flap is good and low, in just the rite spot to work good. You are going to love that saddle and that bike is going to be like a best friend to you! I named mine "stormy", the work horse. I used the proofide stuf on my brooks saddle and even the under side. This helped the break in and I don't cover mine like I should but it has been great. Let me know if you ever need costome weather proof bags , Ron.

30 miles each way? Holy cow! That's long for a car ride!

What's the difference between a LHT and a Cross Check?

Longer chainstays, lower BB, shallower headtube/seat tube angle, and a different fork. Enough to completely change the ride.

Thank you. Have you ridden both, and can you describe them? I only recently became aware of Surly and am impressed. Where are they made?

I finally have a pic of my "commuter". I know it may not fit some definitions of commuter but I ride this everyday its not raining or snowing round trip around 25 miles, so it fits my definition.

I do have a small frame pack for my wallet, phone, keys and spare tube.

I've only ridden the LHT, so I can't personally tell you the differences in ride. But I imagine the CC rides like a more racing oriented bike while the LHT most definitely has a very smooth ride, like a cadillac some say (I'm inclined to agree). If the CC is anything like my LHT, it's gotta be good.
They're made in Taiwan.

A friend is selling me his CC cheap, and I'm looking forward to building it.

Thought I'd throw my commuter on here as well since I'm a newbie on the boards. It's not much to look at but it gets the job done.

Those are Bushwhacker bags on the rack, they've served me well. My bike doubles as a roving EMS provider at crowded events, which is a lot of fun!

Nice. I'm sure you will happy with it even if there are lots of good looking LHT out there.

You couldn't have chosen nicer fenders. Very classy stuff.

Too many places to fish. I would never make it to work. Humm, I would have to figure out how to carry an undetected fising pole on my commuter bike, I always have one in my car, just in case a fishing trip breaks out.
