Slight up date to the good ole M-80 got new crank set moved up to a 50 tooth and now running 3 rings, and a fancy new titanium BB, and to think three months ago it was a 1x8. Ive decided to use her as my touring rig now as well and i live in idaho so i needed to make it a little easier to climb when i get the new rubber ill post better pics. It almost looks naked without any bags on it feels weird riding it without em too. Gonna go on a weekend ride next week lets see how the ole beast does.

The bike is part of TREKs Nordic Line. It's supposedly made with special regard to the Scandinavian climate. Yes it's strange that they're not available. I'd think that these features would come in handy anywhere. The only things I added, were the bar-ends. My bike is part of TREKs Nordic Line, supposedly built for the Scandinavian climate. I gather that the S in S720 stands for Scandinavia. 1980's Shogun Ground Breaker. Just picked up last week, did some major remodeling. Added brifters, new saddle and triple crank set. Can't find much info about this bike anywhere, but rides great.

That Shogun looks nice, I am curious about your rear brake setup. I have a shogun road bike hanging in my garage. I snagged it when my neighbors tossed it out in the trash. Seems like a nice enough bike I haven't had the time to do anything with it yet.

picked it up off ebay for like 18 bucks i didnt wanna spend no damn 100 bucks for a rack i would only use a few times, yeah im gonna paint it its in the test fitting phase right now im adding some bars to go from it to the top screw holes on my fork drops to make it easier to attach bags. to find it on ebay just search for front rack bags and they will show up, really are pretty good deal.

With 3 young ones, I am finding that it's very difficult to find the time to ride these days especially on the weekends. Browsing through this site, I have been motivated to commute, and decided to commute at least once a week, 18 miles each way.
I have few bikes each for specific purposes, but none for a commuter use. So I decided to convert my clunker for commute use. It's a no name brand, Motiv RockPoint II which was bought at Costco over 20 years ago. It was the first bike that I purchased in the late 80s. Although a cheapo, it still has decent frame, cro-mo 4130. Since it was always garaged, the frame is in quite excellent condition though. For sentimental values, I haven't been able to part with it all these years. I have been looking into fenders and panniers, but I was undecided until last Friday when I rode to work. I rode with my backpack which weighed over 20 lbs due to laptop. And I realized that I better get that weight off my shoulders asap...dang shoulders are still killing me. BigSung you got it with the drive side out and a light colored wall behind it. That should suit all. It looks quite practical and I admire it. I commuted three years before I saved up enough for the Trek. I have one after another of the Xmart bikes with parts from other bikes to keep them going. The best thing I ever did was make some mud tires into studded ice tires. I have commuted almost every day since then, regardless of weather. Good luck. Blues Frog

My single speed beach cruiser came in today! Woott. Went out to Walmart and got me some spare tubes, bike lock, mini pump, and some tools. Still be needing a slime patch, some slime sealants, and possibly a small bag. Sorry no pic folks.
