irclean, I'm glad at least one person liked that. Grammatical errors are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I wish it weren't so. |
A sure sign of spring... the summer bikes are coming out to play a little.

Well, no new pictures as of now but the winter beater is about to be given away. Too many issues for me to deal with right now. The Summer bike now sports the old winter clincher wheelset with some new Panaracer Pasela TG 28c's. Loving it. Much smoother than the 22c tubulars I was riding on it previously. Selling the Pinarello. Trying to move here shortly and want to slim down and need the cash.

Univega Sport
Nearly all my miles are for transportation, so my main bike is set up as a commuter.
It's an early 80's Univega Sport with:

I see it's a Dawes Lightning, but I can't find it on the website. Is it a 2009 model? Am I seeing Shimano Sora? |
its a 2010 model i found it on ebay yeah its got a sora rear derailer the rest of the drive train is kinda cheap but it feels pretty solid i got it today and have rode it 11miles so far it feels more expensive than a 400 bike its also my first bike with a carbon fork i kinda like it takes some of the bump outta the ride i think im gonna get some new cranks and front derailer and a carbon seatpost here in a few months

Nice bike!

Picked up a few sets of trekking bars yesterday and decided to fit one set to my Trek 7500 since my back has not been liking the down low position in the drops but need that forward positioning the trekking bars offer.
Took about an hour to set things up and dial things in as I went from friction shifted bar cons to some 1st gen XTR which work really smoothly with all the XT and LX parts on the bike... and they are really nice looking brakes / shifters. http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/trekker5.JPG Nice thing about the t bars is how many ways you can set them up. |
I wonder if that will end the topic of regarding if that bike is a hybrid now. I would love to see a close up of those friction shifters. Looks great, I am really digging trekking bars, best upgrade I have done so far
|
Timber - Those XTR (st m900) bits date back to '92 and were the first 8 speed sti group for off road and as they are pretty much new work very well... I am most impressed with the braking action and they are mated to the best cantis ever made... which are also early XTR.
