Picked this up off CL today...was kind of an impulse buy, but I'm sick of commuting on my poor-fitting hybrid and my new commuter CX bike still hasn't come in yet (thanks Bianchi...). So I'll commute on this for the next couple weeks. I already put my SPD pedal on, adjusted the seat and bars, and took off the extra bottle cage. For a CL bike, this thing is in great shape and super smooth compared to my Jamis. Once my CX bike comes in, I plan to use it as my weekend workout bike.

A few weeks ago I got this Nashbar Steel Cyclocross. Previously I was commuting on a 1996ish Diamondback mountain bike. My old mtb is aluminum so the new ride is more comfortable and faster.

Overall what do you think of the PDX, and how much does it weigh stock? I'm considering a PDX along with a 9th District, 7.3 FX or 1.1 to be my new commuter in a few months. My 7200 is just way too heavy when i am carrying stuff.
Of your choices i'd probably go with the either the 9th District or the 7.3fx, leaning a bit towards the district. I like the idea of a simpler drivetrain, although for your money the 7.3 is probably a better value. Although I might lean towards something like the Nashbar Steel Cyclocross bike if I was really trying to save my pennies and wanted a good all-rounder.

I just picked this new commuter, casual steed, and cargo tractor up this weekend. I've been wanting it for about 4-5 years and ordered it roughly a month ago.
Tomorrow is my first commute on it... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7194/6...2a53697598.jpg Greenspeed Anura by Dygitul Junky, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7183/6...d7249ff706.jpg Greenspeed Anura by Dygitul Junky, on Flickr |
^^^^ OOOOHHHHH!!!!! Nice looking trike, Junky. I think you need a nice orange or green flag to make you more visible.

I have a set of sparrows and they are pretty nice. I like these because I have a "hook" position and a "sit up" position. |

Let us know how you like it after you get some miles on it. |
