Third year of the Mule. Made sure it looks as ugly as possible.

Shimano Acera groupset.
37*622 Schwalbe Marathon tyres.
Rack (looking for some panniers these days) for putting my back pack with clothes and stuff.
Nice v-brakes with rain friendly pads.
Lots of reflective tape and stuff for night riding.
Decent fenders. Metal, 60 years old.
Looking for a way to put bars a bit lower and closer (the frame is one size too big for me I guess).

Here's my commuter bike, BMC crossmachine CX02. I commute 38-70km/day, so I've tried to keep it as light and simple possible. The tyres are 32mm Schwalbe Marathons during summer and 35mm Marathon Winters when it starts to snow.

How old is your CX02? I can't find it on BMC's site. And are those really rack bolts on the seatstay?

I picked up some nashbar waterproof panniers. First panniers but the freedom of no backpack was fantastic. Li picked it up from bikes direct.

I know it's not the correct side, but I don't have my camera right now so I'll get a proper pic tomorrow. It's a Miyata 414 and it serves me very well for a 30 mile round trip commute

What sort of times do you make on each 15 mile trip? What sort of roads?

I love cycling in Germany, anywhere in Europe for that matter. Trying to go as car free as possible.

most of my cycling is central/southern Germany. it would be nice to get up to the northern part of the country!

I live in coastal NC so I'm on relatively flat roads. My commute is 45min-1hr depending on how frisky I'm feeling that day. I'm training to run a 100 miler in the early spring so I haven't pushed it very hard on the bike lately.

^wow your bike is awesome. thanks for the link to the new disc equipped model. Thats a huge emerging trend right now in the US bike market: drop bar, cyclocross-like wheel/geometry, disc brake "do everything" bikes.

I'm kind of annoyed to not have known of the BMC offerings before I bought my Redline.

acidfast7, here up the North you get some incredible steady tailwinds. Same for headwinds but it's all quite predictable. On my last trip to Hamburg the average speed was about 30! Though i really like and miss the diversity and the hills of the South.

Ns1, the kickstand is actually a trailer hitch from Weber (i spend a fair amount of time riding with kids), i think the model is "B". Made of plastic but it's a sturdy one, much better than some i had in the past.

And the same bike in the beginning of the summer, it was a singlespeed before i converted it to an IGH.

New build, this was an old roomate's '79 Raleigh Super Record. It was in very rough shape when I got it. It had just its rear brake with a pair of extremely beat up steel 5 speed 27" wheels. The brake didn't work. It had friction stem shifters and a cheap square taper double crankset with a forged drive side.
I stripped it, i replaced the old unsealed bb and crankset with a shimano cartrige bb and mid 90's 105 road triple. It now has a 7 speed 700c rear wheel that probably came from an older hybrid. The front brake is from a late 60's/early 70's Schwinn Continental. Cinelli road bars with a ritchey threadless stem(used a quill to threadless adapter). Shimano 600 brake levers, 1960's Campy Record clamp on downtube shifters, and 700 x 28 Vittoria Randonneurs. I wish I had a picture of the bike before. She is a mut, but she runs like a dream, has a very wide gear range, and is much nicer than she was 34 years ago.

Thanks. CX bikes have been the really popular in Europe (here in the north at least) for a quite a while now, due to their versatility: you can can ride them all year, and with a change of wheels/tyres you have a road bike for the occasional group ride. CX bikes are the "new hybrid", I seem them almost as often as hybrid bikes on my way to work.

Nice Trek! Might want to find a way to attach your bungees with less slack. You'd be surprised at what can get caught in a wheel...
