post apocalypse bike, i like it

And before I read these replies, I thought, "Urban assault vehicle!" And it looks very well used yet still in excellent running condition.

But man, that is super inspiring, especially with the report of those tires. OK, now I'll build myself a fat-bike of sorts. Not a 3"+ tire bike, but something that can take the Big Apples.

I also like how you have a large seat bag and a frame bag and no racks.

Also, I notice the lack of fenders. I hear Spokane has a very dry climate.

I have copyrighted Urban Assault Vehicle and the acronym U.A.V.

:D

I have also waived any fees for it's use.

first commute on the rain bike, (before I was taking the car on rainy days). This guy is kind of a mess of parts but I am starting to like this setup more and more

Voodoo Awge frame, Salsa Delgado wheels, cascade fenders, x9 group in a 1x10 setup..

bike is bare of lights and bags because I took them all in earlier, I snapped this on my lunch break.

David, that C'dale is looking sweet.

Was nice to get out today on the Shasta and appreciate the new wheelset and upgrade to the drivetrain... just had some short errands to run as I needed some small tools and understand we are looking at more snow dammit.

Thanks man. Its nice to have it back. I picked up a set of wheels at the shop and bought new tires to go along as well. I moved my 9-speed cassette from the old set to the new wheelset, tuned it all up and rode it to work this morning. Now to tweak the position a bit and life will be good. After the picture was taken I moved the seatpost up a bit and will have to tweak a little more since I changed the bars on the bike over the winter as well. On the subject of snow, by Sunday we will have had a full six months of winter. Aww man!!!

I dunno, but a complaint about snow from someone in NORTHERN CANADA seems a little silly.

Home after the commute, crankset is now 49/39/26 from the original 52/42/32. Tires are 700C 28mm Pasela Tourguards. The rack is a Civia Cafe. I outlined the lugs in gold.:

That bike looks pretty nice.

I like how the black fenders blend in with the tires in a stealthy way..

That fork is that same as this one correct?

If so, what size tires are you running?
Do you have any close ups of the clearance around the top of the tire where the fork and fenders meet? Any pics without the fenders?

New commuter. It feels like I'm going so much faster than on my Giant Roam, but I'm really only saving 1 minute. Money well spent!

That is a damn sexy bike for a commuter... nice!

Any opportunity to post a pic of my new ride. IRO Group buy frame (from 2007?), Sugino 75 cranks, Sugino Grand Mighty chain ring, Campy Record headset, Miche Supertype seatpost, Brooks B17, Deep V's, PDW rack, Crud Road Racer mk 2 fenders, leftover mtb bars, lever, and stem, and generic Shimano brake.

Added a couple new things to my commuter --

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1...420_173045.jpg

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-u...420_173251.jpg

Zip-tied water bottle cage (no bosses on frame; works fine so far, even on rooty singletrack and other generally bumpy crap); frame-fit zefal classic pump; new rear light (light&motion vis 180 micro); also, a cheap but kinda cool colored light rope.
