Does it have the cross top "interupter levers"? I understand that they don't work that great with disc brakes, but I love mine on my cantis.

I had levers like that on my Schwinn DBX, and it had disc brakes. Worked fine, too. I have them on my current canti-braked commuter and wouldn't hesitate to use them on my next commuter build (which would have discs again).

It doesn't have interrupter levers. I think the biggest problem with those levers, whether with cantilevers or discs is that they are a possible source of cable friction if you don't get the cable routing right. I took them off of my CX race bike, along with switching to Ripcord housing, and the difference in performance, using Shimano CX70 cantilevers, is astounding (probably mostly the Ripcord though).

Nice job. I meant to try that before SEP ended. How was it?

I ordered some 26 x 2.35 Big Apples for the Surly Troll commuter build I was planning. I had difficulty getting the parts I wanted so I cancelled that build, but kept the tires for my old mtb. The fenders are a very tight fit. An initial test ride will have to wait until tomorrow.

And the way I transported the tires from the LBS.

A little work done to the Masi Speciale CX that I posted a while back. Ended up liking the frame so much, had it chopped, coupled, and powder coated. So, the commuter is now also the traveler.

Nice ride! I love MEC!

This is his first year in middle school. He has strong opinions on how his lunch must be structured to fit in at school, and what underwear is acceptable to reveal now that he has to change for PE, but no issues w/ that ginormous triangle.

This gets my vote as one of the best pics on BF!

I'll join you!
Cheap titanium commuter with a card board box - why? :) Though I suppose that will make it look cheaper than it is, and ward off thieves.

Like the trailer in the back too!

Think I finally got my lighting figured out for the winter. Lezyne superdrive up front, with a planet bike superturbo in the back, and two walmart spoke mounted wheel lights ($5 a piece, both solid and flashing light, but only had red and green- it's like christmas every day!).

The bike:

I have those spoke lights too! Only Amber up front, red in the back. They look totally weaksauce during the day, but I was very impressed with how they glow at night.

I recently started commuting to work, 9 miles each way. Put my seatpost rack back on this week that takes the light bulky stuff while the rest goes in a backpack. It's in the low 40s in the mornings and about 70F each afternoon so I have been wearing more layers heading in and carrying more layers heading home, so the rack helps a lot keeping bulk off my back.

2006 Felt F5
MagicShine 900 headlight (pre-recall model but with new battery)
PB Superflash on chainstay, generic red blinky on rack.
Lots of reflective tape on rims, near dropouts, and on crankarms.
Topeak seat post mounted rack.

I finally killed my rear Gatorskin a few weeks ago after 6500 miles, but the GP4000s I have on there now are doing surprisingly well, thankfully, considering how much junk is in the bike lanes on many roads here.

My rebuilt Huffy cruiser which I saved on it's way to a junk shop.

working on a little project. Klunker inspired 29er. Old Schwinn frame. awaiting a retro ryder headset so I can use the 1 1/8" fork. Frame will be painted OD green. This thing will be used for commuting, single track, bar hopping...and anything else I feel like!

I have this feeling that old Treks never really die... they just get refinished! This one will (still) be a 650b conversion, but I'm finally upgrading it to 8S.

Did you add extra reflective material to the wheels or is that just the reflection from a stripe on the tires? I got a roll of reflective tape and I've been thinking of doing something with my wheels since my studded Nokians have no reflective stripe on them.
