If so, what size tires are you running?
Do you have any close ups of the clearance around the top of the tire where the fork and fenders meet? Any pics without the fenders?

I am using 35s now. on Soma's website they have a build with 44s and no fenders.

New commuter. It feels like I'm going so much faster than on my Giant Roam, but I'm really only saving 1 minute. Money well spent!

Zip-tied water bottle cage (no bosses on frame; works fine so far, even on rooty singletrack and other generally bumpy crap); frame-fit zefal classic pump; new rear light (light&motion vis 180 micro); also, a cheap but kinda cool colored light rope.

whoa MAD tall gearing!

Not THAT mad - only 48/18 (71,4 gear inches/5,7 meters development). Not fixed gear, just single-speed. Seems about right, that is, not very good for climbing, not very good at descents, just fine on flats. Comfortable speed for me on this bike is 27...35 km/h, I spin out at around 45 km/h. Weighs around 12 kg/27 lbs without lock, panniers and lights. Low-end MTB gas pipe frame there. Average loaded weight around 16 kg/35 lbs.

Yeah, that's actually a bit lower than my fixed gearing of 46x16 (which works out to ~76 g" after factoring in the beefy 700x40c tires and 165mm cranks). It's great for keeping up decent speed on the downhills without spinning out, and I can climb up most moderately steep SF hills with only a little bit of tacking and the occasional yelp of pain :P

I always liked those C'mutes and the new grey is nice. I see you have a black fork on it, did you already have that fork or was it color preference? Just wondering why you aren't using the matching grey fork. Also, I always wondered about the toe overlap with those frames and fenders...is there any?

Thanks! With 175 crank arms, 32c tires + fenders, there is a tiny bit of toe overlap. I have the black fork because I bought the Nashbar touring fork for 17 dollars over the matching 90 dollar fork and repainted it. The hope is to get a carbon Cross fork some day and also 170 or 172.5 crank arms if I run across some used.

I'm a fan of the solid color frame and black fork so it looks good to me. I have toe overlap with 32mm tires and fenders on my CX bike (172.5 crank arms). It bothered me enough to take the fenders off, but I might try them again with a lower profile 28mm tires just for grins. Here's mine minus the fenders.

Very nice! Yeah, your frame looks a little more sporty / compact than mine, and the fork has a little less rake.
