Maybe your image is too large? My pic is about 450kb, uploaded to sites.google.com, and linked like you said, via url. When it asks if I want to upload my pic to this site (i think it's a checkbox) I say no.

on (the new) flickr you have to go to the 3 dots at the bottom right corner of the picture you're viewing, which brings up an option menu. click on "view all sizes"
choose the size you want, but DON'T copy the URL on your browser, you have to RIGHT CLICK on the "download this size" above the size listings, and choose COPY LINK ADDRESS (in Chrome, various browsers may say something similar).

if you did it right, the flickr link you end up pasting here will have "farm" and "staticflickr" in the link.

I also always choose to uncheck the box that says "retrieve remote file and host locally" when doing the image linking here on the boards.

Thanks Sci Guy, I think that worked. Here is my trusty reliable commuter in winter garb. I change out those studded tires for slicks in summer but the rest remains the same.

Starting a new back up/winter commuter, meet the new drop bar MTB this time with disc brakes. Unknown frame but is surely a big name Manu. Will have full commuter setup with rack and fenders, I have most everything to complete just need some time and ideas for color!

The glow is from the headlight's of my wife's car. The front hub is a Sturmey Archer XLFDD; a 90mm drum brake combined with a dynohub.

For a long time my Fisher sat un-used and I even thought I might sell it to to buy a newer mountain bike with discs, but after looking at every bike posted in the 452 pages of this thread I decided I would lose too much money selling my 17 year old steelie and it would be a lot more useful and fun to ride if I simply swapped out some parts and set it up as a trainer/commuter.

I put the Drifters on it a few months ago and swapped the 1.5" riser bar for the original flat bar and Fish Stix's Last weekend I picked up an adjustable stem, I have always felt cramped and probably needed the next larger frame size but it's too late now. I put some regular pedals on it in place of the Shimano SPD's that have caused my knees to ache anyway. The original stem is a 120mm but I could not get the bars less than three inches below the seat, this stem allowed me to put the bars about 1" above the seat and as my strength and conditioning improve I can lower the stem and lower the angle stretching out a bit.

This week I received the Brooks B67 and Marathon 1.5's, I am still waiting on a set of silver SKS P45's. I will probably order the 1200 lumen cree T6 light off Amazon this weekend. I have always enjoyed riding at night and the cree 250 lumen headlamp I use now works pretty good but I think the T6 will be a lot nicer.

I took it for a spin this morning and love the Brooks, even the new and hard as a rock leather feels a lot better than every other saddle I have used in the last 20 years excluding the B17 on my PooJoe. The Marathon's don't feel much faster than the Drifter's but they look a heck of a lot better.

Eventually I will add a mini-rack up front and a standard rack in the rear and I want to replace the Sugino Impel black crankset with an all silver crankset.

Hope ya'll like it....

FnF

My faithful old commuter and urban assault bike... she has been so many things and tomorrow she is going to look at a new home.

Thankfully... I will be able to visit her often.

I am thinning the herd here and my nephew has been asking me about getting a more road friendly commuter and a bike that he might do some short tours on. I was already planning on selling the Shasta as I still have my Cascade and my go to bike for urban assaults and commuting has been my "new" Moulton.

This is my favourite bike... Forrest was the first bike I could ride after I fragged my back and I have put a lot of blood, sweat, and gears into the little fella and he can do anything the bigger bikes can do except for that freaky looking thing with the 4 inch wide tyres.

Schwalbe Marathons... the Comets I have are faster and a little more supple but around here the Marathons ensure that my riding is virtually flat free.

here's my newest commuter. It's a Chinese Carbon frame with Ultegra group. It weighs 18 pounds without the Timbuk2 goodie bag, lights, and quadlock cellphone mount.

That's actually a pretty nice looking frame! Are they copying the Pinarello Dogma there? Is it BB30 or something beefy like that?

Here is my cannondale bad boy on the way to work a few days ago. I won't complain about my commute. I have the privilege to go from one end of Honolulu, HI to the other "Waikiki". Just have a bunch of distractions along the beaches.
